Dragon's Whisker 2

On the way to school the next morning, Akane tries to get the secret of the dragon's whisker out of Ranma, but he tells her it's none of her business. The Chinese men set out a trap for Ranma, a simple lasso on the ground with a pork bun in the center. Except Happosai grabs the bait instead. When they try to beat him up for interfering, he clobbers them. Happosai wants to know what they're doing, and they say all they want is the dragon's whisker. When Happosai asks what it is, they whisper to him. Happosai looks greatly startled, saying, "What?! So that is the legendary dragon's whisker!"

Cut to gym period at the school. Akane is fuming that Ranma never tells her anything important, and wondering what the something terrible is that would happen. Ranma goes to catch the ball, but it turns out to be one of Happosai's explosives instead. Happosai, surrounded by a large battle aura, faces Ranma and demands the dragon's whisker. When Ranma attempts to attack Happosai, the old man levels him with a chi blast. Ranma manages to get up just before Happosai gets to his pigtail, and throws a large number of bras at him to distract him. Akane wonders what Ranma is doing with all of those bras. However, Happosai is not distracted, much to everyone's shock, and clobbers Ranma.

Ranma manages to run away. The Chinese men attack him, throwing buns emitting knock-out gas. Ranma tries to get away from them, despite growing dizzy. Akane is looking for Ranma, and spots the chase. One of the Chinese men gets his hand on the dragon's whisker, but Ranma manages to knock them away. Except it's revealed, as they are flying off, that one of the Chinese men is smiling and holding the dragon's whisker. Ranma sees this, and looks over his shoulder in fear at his unraveling hair.

Akane manages to stomp the man holding the dragon's whisker. She takes it from him and holds it up, calling Ranma. However, Ranma yells at Akane not to look at him, and runs away. Akane chases after him. She corners him in the P.E. equipment shed. Akane tries to pull Ranma out from under a bunch of mats, saying, "Why are you hiding from me?" Ranma yells, "Get away, idiot!"

The chapter ends with a frame in which Akane is rearing back in shock. She exclaims, "Ranma ...! You ... You ..."

Dragon's Whisker 1

The story starts in the Bayankala mountain range in China, the same mountains that hold the valley of Jusenkyo. A group of men have accosted the owner of a small restaurant, asking him where he has hidden the 4000 year old treasure known as the "dragon's whisker". They force a confession from him, and he tells them that a foreigner with a pigtail took it. Then he draws them a picture of this foreigner, which is more or less recognizable as Ranma's head.

Cut to Nerima, where a representative of the city is at the Tendo dojo, asking for help against a group which is going around cutting off the pigtails of people who wear their hair so. Soun agrees, and he, Genma, Ranma and Akane go out in a group hunting for these men. Ranma points out that his hair should be perfect bait.

They are attacked, but Ranma defeats them easily by himself. When Soun threatens one if he doesn't explain why they're doing this, he tells them that they're looking for the dragon's whisker. This startles Ranma considerably, which Akane notices. The men realize that Ranma looks just like their picture, attack again, and Ranma knocks them far away.

Later, Ranma is ruminating out on a balcony of the Tendo house, while Akane is just inside watching him, remembering his reaction and wondering what this dragon's whisker has to do with his pigtail. At that moment, and despite the late night hour, some painters start painting the balcony. They get into a tussle with Ranma, and a can of paint is spilled all over his hair. Ranma knocks them far away again.

Ranma goes inside and washes his hair at a sink, while the Tendo sisters observe him. Akane asks him why he doesn't untie his pigtail, and Kasumi points out he won't get all the paint out if he doesn't. But he refuses. Genma comes in, tells him not to be stupid, and tries to untie it. Ranma kicks him away viciously. Nabiki says that if he's going to resist, then they'll have to untie it by force, and she and Kasumi start attempting to do so. Ranma runs off but comes across Happosai, who knocks him out.

The Chinese men get to Ranma first and announce, in the hearing of the others, that the string holding together the pigtail is the one and only dragon's whisker. This wakes Ranma up, who declares, "The dragon's whisker belongs to me!" and kicks the Chinese men away. The family insists that he tell them what this dragon's whisker is, but Ranma will only say that it is his "seal". That if he takes it off, something terrible will happen.

The chapter ends with Akane wondering what secrets the little string holds, and the Chinese men pepping themselves up to steal it.

Dragon's Whisker Preliminary

Starting in chapter 26 of my story Moxibustion Violation, events occur which correspond to the canon story arc concerning the dragon's whisker. While it is my intention to write the corresponding chapters in such a way that no knowledge from the manga is necessary, it can sometimes be hard to avoid assuming that the readers are familiar with the source material. So my next few posts will summarize those chapters from the manga.

This story arc took place during four chapters, which I will refer to in these posts as chapters 1–4. In the VIZ English translation, these are chapters 1–4 of volume 14. In the Japanese, and scanlations based off of the Japanese, they are chapters 8–11 of volume 15.

MV 26 Posted

As you can see, I decided to post chapter 26 with the cliffhanger at the end. Now I just need to make sure that I don't take too long getting chapter 27 written. I've already started it, but it's almost time to head off to bed now, since I need to get up and go to work tomorrow.

I promise, the very first scene of chapter 27 will deal with whatever Ukyo has in mind for Akane.

MV 26 Possible Break

I've extended chapter 26 to some 7300 words, which is short although not the shortest of the chapters in the story. I'm thinking of stopping at this point and posting what I have as chapter 26 (after I go back and do some cleaning up). I'll probably make a decision about that tomorrow. The main argument against it would be that I'd be ending the chapter on a major cliffhanger. Also, there isn't a lot of sex in what I've done so far, although plenty of stuff does happen.

MV 26 Started

I've started writing chapter 26 of Moxibustion Violation, and so far, at least, I'm finding it fairly easy to write. I just hope I can continue.

I already have over five thousand words, which I would consider as putting me about halfway. My chapter lengths have varied quite a bit, from about seven to twelve thousand words for the most part. I seem to care more about getting certain scenes into the chapter than cutting it off at a specific length.

Still, I've only gotten a little way into my original outline for the chapter. Given the length so far, I suspect I'm going to end up dividing my planned chapter into a couple of chapters.

I would really like to continue writing right now. But it's late and tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day, and I'll need to get up fairly early. So even though I'm feeling my muse, I'm afraid I'm going to have to shut down and hope that I'm still feeling the right mood when I come back to this.

Scorpinac Review of MV 25

This is a comment on Scorpinac's review of chapter 25 of Moxibustion Violation.

Scorpinac wrote:
Somehow, I think that little boat excursion would have been more comfortable in the spring or summer time, but I digress. And Hikaru continues to gain respect, I must say. Though I must also admit to perfectly understanding his reasons. As to the close, yeah, should have seen that one coming, though sadly Ryoga covered it well. And somehow I think he's going to step things up a bit now that Soun and Genma are out of the equation for a while...though there is still Nabiki and Kasumi... Ah, well. Until chapter 26, then. Laters.

Just looked at your correction of chapter 24, and yes, that works, makes much more sense now. And since I forgot before, Ukyo really needs a shrink, doesn't she? At least she trying to control her anger, but for how long? Oh, well. Again, laters.

I definitely agree it would have been more comfortable in warmer weather. On the other hand, there would almost certainly have been other people out on the lake in that case, so likely they wouldn't have been able to get away with what they did.

Yes, Hikaru is thinking long term here.

The stuff with Ukyo in this chapter wasn't planned, the character sprung it on me. Getting rid of the fathers like that has been planned for some time. I was setting it up in the previous chapters both by revealing that Ryoga had sufficient funds for such a purpose, and with Ryoga's story about the method of curing Ranma and Akane - which now provides the excuse to send them away.

And no, there is not still Nabiki and Kasumi. Nabiki is in the U.S. now. So there is only still Kasumi. I am not planning to send Kasumi away (nor will she be gang banged by Michio and company).

Yes, Ukyo is trying to control her anger a bit. As you sense, she is unlikely to be ultimately successful.

MV 26 Outline

I've just finished outlining chapter 26 for Moxibustion Violation. Which unfortunately is no indication of how quickly I'll write it, considering that I had the outline for chapter 25 completed months ago.

There are two plots planned for chapter 26. The obvious one involves Ukyo, and what happens concerning her plans for revenge. The other one, about which I would be surprised if anyone can guess what it entails, sets up for certain things I have in mind for when the next school term starts. It involves character(s)/event(s) from the manga which have not previously made an appearance in MV.

MV 25 Stats

The new chapter has been up for about eight hours so far on AdultFanFiction, and about six hours on AssTR. Cumulative hits for the day are around 170 for AdultFanFiction, and 1700 for AssTR. There's one review.

I'm just sharing data by the way, not complaining about anything. It would be nice to have more reviews, but I'm assuming I'll get the usual number in the next few days. Almost all of which will come from readers on AdultFanFiction.

To "Anon" who's given the sole review so far - no, Ukyo won't get away Scot free. Neither is she going to become another slave to the gang. Wait and see how I balance it.

Chapter 25 on AssTR

The AssTR site is available again, and I've now updated the story there as well.

Chapter 25 Posted

I have posted chapter 25 of Moxibustion Violation on adultfanfiction.net. I also corrected a lot of typographic and spelling errors in earlier chapters, including the "suck socks" which was supposed to be "suck cocks."

So far I have not been able to update the story on asstr.org. The site is apparently down right now. I'll update it once it is available.

Chapter 25 Initial Completion

I have just finished writing chapter 25 of Moxibustion Violation!

Sort of.

I need to go back and rewrite some bits, and clean the whole thing up. So there's some more work to do before I can actually post the thing. I hope to be able to do so before the end of the coming weekend, but I've learned the hard way not to promise things like that.

I had one significant surprise before the end of the chapter. I didn't think Ukyo would get back yet. But she did. She makes an appearance, in Nerima, within this chapter.

There's more action than sex in this chapter, but hopefully that won't be too much of a problem for people who are reading. There should be plenty of sex before the story ends. For that matter, there is sex in this chapter. But the chapter is a bit on the long side, and that length is due more to the non-sex parts.

Chapter 25 on the 16th

I'm fairly pleased with progress. I got more written today, despite getting a new book to read. I think that I'm about three quarters of the way through the chapter now, with about one and a half scenes to go before the end. I'm currently wrapping up a sex scene at Gosunkugi's home. It makes me wish that I had a next door neighbor as accommodating as Hikaru (and bearing in mind that the man is presumably unaware of the non-consensual nature of what's going on there).

When I do finish writing the chapter, it is going to be necessary for me to go back through and clean it up. It's been a bit rough getting back into it, and it shows in parts.

I've also been forced to acknowledge that reduced dosage isn't the same as having the crap out of my system entirely. My libido is up, but not back to original levels. I'm an interested spectator in observing the difference between how I want my brain to react, and how it really reacts.

In case you're wondering, we're having a quiet period at work right now, and I've been trying to take advantage of it. Particularly since I can't be sure how long it will last.

More Chapter 25

I got another large chunk of chapter 25 of MV written today. I couldn't do much on the few days preceding because I was fighting some issues on my computer, although I did manage to do those summaries of the ultimate weakness moxibustion arc from the manga for this blog.

I have a definite stopping place in mind for this chapter. I figure I'm about halfway there now. I should (hopefully) have some time over the next few days to do more work on it, so long as my wife doesn't decide to fill that spare time with chores.

Hiroshi and Daisuke will be getting some more action in chapter 25.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Conclusion

While everyone on the ground watches the pair plunge from the sky, Happosai digs himself out of the ground. Angered beyond belief, he throws a Happo-fire burst at Ranma. Except it only does minor injury, and actually slows their descent. So Happosai dons a flying squirrel costume and flies up into the air to meet Ranma on the way down, demanding that he hand over the photographs. Ranma tosses the photographs to the side, distracting Happosai, and then leaps onto Happosai's back, still clutching Akane. The three of them half fall, half glide until they crash into a chain link fence at the edge of the sports field.

Akane wakes up. Her first words are, "The ... the chart ..." She grabs Ranma by the shirt. "Ranma! Where's the moxibustion chart?!" At that moment, the students bring all the confetti they gathered to Cologne, and a huge grin appears on Ranma's face as he realizes there is still hope. But when they assemble the chart from the pieces, there is one piece missing. The exact piece that shows how to cure the ultimate weakness moxibustion. Ranma is devastated.

Ranma puts on a face of false cheer, says good-bye, then takes off as fast as he can. Ukyo starts to beat the still prone Happosai with her battle spatula. Ryoga stops her, spotting the final piece of the chart stuck to Happosai's head. This is where my story Moxibustion Violation diverges from canon, since in my story they don't find that piece of the chart.

Ranma plans to leave Nerima without saying any further good-byes to anyone. Except that Akane catches up to him, still looking very disheveled from her trip in the tornado. Akane says that she won't stop him, but that she will go with him. Ranma tells her that she's stupid, but as he fails to lift his backpack, Akane points out that he needs her along to carry all his stuff. Akane tries to tell him that he doesn't have to leave, that he doesn't have to be strong, that he has other qualities (although she has trouble naming any). As they begin to argue about it, Cologne sneaks up and burns some moxibustion into Ranma's back.

Ranma screams and spins around, just as Cologne throws a big cement turf roller at him (or whatever you call those things). Ranma's outflung fist smashes the thing, much to his shock. Mousse, Tatewaki and Principal Kuno show up to attack Ranma, but he now easily defeats all three of them at once.

In the end frame, we look in on Ranma a week later. He has apparently spent that week beating up on his father, Happosai and others, and generally doing a lot of property destruction. Happosai asks the family if they'd like him to make Ranma weak again.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 11

The spectators notice that Ranma is no longer on the ground. He has jumped into the twister to try to reach Akane. Without his strength, Ranma has a hard time trying to get to her. Happosai, Mousse, Tatewaki and Principal Kuno all pop out of the twister, unconscious, and strike the ground hard enough to dig out a large crater. The student body promptly buries them.

Unable to breathe, Akane starts to pass out. It turns out that she managed to pick up the moxibustion chart and has been clutching it to her chest. Afraid of what will happen when she blacks out, she reaches out to hand the chart to Ranma. Ranma is amazed that she stepped into the heart of the blast just to save the chart for him, and tells her that she's even stupider than he thought. As she passes out, Akane says, "Hurry ... take ... it ..."

Ranma manages to grab Akane's arm, but the chart start to rip apart out of her hand as the winds clutch at it. Ranma pulls Akane against his body while staring at the chart, and declares, "Akane risked her life to give me this ... nothing's gonna take it from me!" With that, he seizes the chart with his teeth. But the winds finish shredding it into pieces as the horrified Ranma watches. The students see confetti emerge from the tornado. Cologne recognizes it for what it is, and demands that everyone gather every scrap.

Ranma is distraught, but then he wakes up to the current situation, and the unconscious girl in his arms. "Akane! I forgot about her! I can't give up yet! If nothing else ... I'll save you!" With this final thought, we see Ranma and Akane falling toward the sport field far, far below.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 10

Ranma and Happosai meet on a sports field at Furinkan High School. The student body gathers around to watch. Cologne, Genma, Ryoga and Akane are among the spectators. Ukyo is selling okonomiyaki off of a portable grill. Happosai shows off the moxibustion chart but refuses to hand it over. He starts ironing panties, releasing not a drop of battle aura.

Everyone watches the completely still Ranma, wondering what he plans. He's thinking that he never would have resorted to this if he could have helped it. That he's casting away the last of his pride. Yet, if it's to regain his strength, then he can do it. Ranma pulls out a set of photographs and shows them to Happosai. They are photographs of Ranma, in his female (cursed) form, wearing racy lingerie. Akane realizes that the sounds she heard from inside Ranma's room came from a camera. Ukyo and Ryoga are puzzled about Ranma's "secret plan", pointing out that he has made use of his female form before in fights, particularly against Happosai. Akane points out to them that this time it's different, that before he's always had boys' underwear on under a skirt, but this is the first time he has ever deliberately worn lingerie.

Happosai is staring at the photographs, shell shocked. Tatewaki Kuno appears out of nowhere, trying to get the photographs from Ranma. On seeing this threat to the photos, a massive aura bursts forth from Happosai, as he declares that they are his! The spectators are front-lit by the aura. Cologne states, "Amazing!! So much greater than his battle aura ..." Akane adds, "His lust aura could lay waste the earth!"

Seeing Happosai and Tatewaki attacking Ranma, Mousse and Principal Kuno decide to join in on the fun. Ranma manages to lead them all into a spiral, the combined auras causing the spectators to be seen in silhouette. Akane notices as the moxibustion chart falls out of Happosai's gi. Ranma throws the uppercut which unleashes an unbelievably strong cyclone, and he watches from the ground as it sweeps his attackers upward. Then he notices that Akane is also caught in it ...

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 9

Ranma leads the enraged Happosai into a perfect spiral, as Genma, Cologne, Akane and Ukyo watch from a nearby roof. At the center of the spiral, Ranma throws the corkscrew uppercut ... which fizzles. Because Happosai is gone, peeking through a window at a girl who is changing her shirt. Ranma attempts to get Happosai to fight, but the old man refuses, saying he can't attack Ranma in his weakened state due to his sense of justice. This makes everyone suspicious, since Happosai has no sense of justice. As Ranma attempts to incite the old pervert to attack, Happosai responds with, "You're only saying that because ... you want to make a poor old man ... suffer the Hiryū Shōten Ha."

Everyone wants to know how Happosai could have known that. He points out to Cologne that she seems to have forgotten his visit to her village when they were teenagers themselves (which we had learned about in an earlier story arc) and how she used that same technique on him then. (By the way, Cologne was a fox in her youth, whereas Happosai was just as ugly then as now.)

Ranma tries to do all sorts of things to make Happosai angry enough to attack, none of which work. In the end Ranma collapses, realizing he has lost, and Akane boots Happosai away.

Later Ranma is in his room alone, thinking about all the training he did, all for nothing. Then he gets an idea. Akane, strolling down the hall past his door with a shinai over her shoulder, thinking that she'll have to cheer him up, hears a clicking sound from inside his room. Ranma bursts out of the door, all confidence, saying that he's got the old man, that he has a way to bring out 120% of his aura.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 8

A little later, we see Ryoga in a tent having a nightmare about what happened as Ukyo tends him, while outside Ranma is resting with Akane applying a Band-Aid or two to him. Cologne explains how the technique works. During her explanation Ranma disappears into the tent, to thank the unconscious Ryoga for helping him, and to tell him to rest in peace. Ryoga grabs Ranma by the throat, showing he is now awake. Ranma tries to say he was just joking. Ryoga demands, "Are you telling me you forced yourself on Akane ... as a joke!" He punches Ranma through the top of the tent while Ukyo turns to Akane with a deadly glare, hefts her battle spatula, and inquires, "And just what did Ryoga mean by that, Akane?" Akane, waving a hand up and down, sweatdropping, replies, "Th-That stupid Ranma, lying about ..." Except that Ukyo interrupts and attacks, yelling that she must have seduced him. Ranma says something insulting about this in Akane's hearing, who shoves him, then Ryoga attacks him for insulting Akane, melee ensues.

Everyone packs up and returns to Nerima. We look in on Happosai, who is stealing panties, but is feeling bored without Ranma around to interfere with him. Ranma attacks Happosai, without effect, until he manages to grab the bag of panties and throws it off the roof, emptying it. A battle aura forms around Happosai, and he prepares to take revenge on Ranma.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 7

Ranma, looking at the enraged Ryoga, thinks about the fact that for his training he needs Ryoga to fight him all out. So he interrupts Akane, who is trying to explain to Ryoga that Ranma didn't do anything, and Ranma says, "I'm sorry, Akane ... It's just that ... you looked so ... so beautiful ..." Akane grows wide-eyed, not believing what she's hearing. Ranma adds, "I couldn't help forcing myself on you! Well, what's done is done, so I'm not going to make a big deal about it." Akane's head is swiveling back and forth between Ranma and Ryoga, and she uselessly attempts to protest that Ranma is lying. Ryoga attacks Ranma with deadly intent.

At first Ranma is unsuccessful at leading Ryoga in a spiral and is getting pulverized. Akane is crying, begging Ryoga not to kill him. Ranma yells at her to stay out of it, not to interfere in his training. Cologne shows up and points out to Akane what Ranma is doing, as he finally succeeds in maneuvering through the spiral. Then Cologne realizes that she never taught Ranma the final move, and Akane screams "What?!" at her. But Ranma figures it out on his own, throwing the corkscrew uppercut which takes the spirals of icy and superheated air and transforms them into a whirlwind. One so strong, that Cologne and Akane are nearly sucked into it, although Ranma at its very center is mostly unscathed aside from his clothing being torn up a bit. The unconscious Ryoga lands a long distance off, beside Ukyo and Genma.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 6

Cologne straps Ranma into a harness made of memory metal. The least amount of heat will make it contract, painfully. Therefore Ranma must be extremely careful not to release any battle aura, to remain absolutely ice cold. Cologne reminds Ryoga that he must not hold back. Ryoga attacks, and Ranma leads him in a perfect spiral. Except Cologne interrupts, whacking Ryoga over the head and calling him an idiot, telling him that she said not to hold back. Ryoga realizes the truth - in Ranma's weakened state Ryoga can't bring himself to truly attack him without holding back. No matter how much Ranma provokes him. Feeling like a failure, Ryoga runs off, with Ranma yelling for him to come back.

That night, Genma, Cologne, Ukyo and Akane are discussing the hopelessness of the situation. Cologne points out that a tremendous heat of battle is needed for the technique to work. This gets Akane thinking. Akane tracks down Ranma, who is off moping. Akane has donned some sort of gloves which she has set on fire. In her thinking, this will allow her to attack Ranma while providing a substitute for the battle aura of a true opponent. Ranma doesn't think this will work, and while they argue the fire spreads to Akane's gi. She jumps into a nearby pool of water, but her gi top has been destroyed, leaving her in her pants and bra. Ranma gives Akane his shirt.

Akane and Ranma get into a big argument, with Ranma telling her to go home, and Akane complaining that she just wanted to help, and he wants her to leave because she can't cook like Ukyo and isn't as strong as Ryoga. It finally reaches the point where she runs off in tears. Ranma, unable to stand her running off thinking the things she's thinking, stops her and tells her the truth. "I can't stand for you, of all people, to see me so weak and pathetic!"

At that point Ryoga shows up again. He sees Akane there, her own shirt gone and Ranma's around her shoulders unfastened. Tears on her face. He leaps to the conclusion that Ranma attempted to rape Akane. An absolutely massive battle aura blossoms around Ryoga, and he tells Ranma to "Prepare to die!"

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 5

The first part of Ranma's training is to defend himself from attack while leading his opponent(s) in an inward spiral. Genma, Akane and Ukyo act as his opponents. Except that instead of physical attacks, Genma pulls out a photograph of a very young Ranma, crying, standing beside a wet bed sheet (i.e., he wet it the previous night). A mortified Ranma attempts (unsuccessfully) to prevent Ukyo and Akane from seeing it. Genma next pulls out a photograph of a naked teenage Ranma falling out of a barrel in which he was bathing, because a cat frightened him (Ranma is morbidly afraid of cats). Ukyo pleads with Genma to move his thumb, which is covering Ranma's groin. An extremely red-faced Akane claims that she doesn't want to look, while looking out the corner of her eyes. Ranma is jumping around, demanding that Genma cut it out.

Cologne smacks Ranma over the head, and shows him that he didn't even come close to leading them in a spiral. She tells him that he must not be embarrassed, he must not be angry, he must master the Soul of Ice. He must make the spiral with an icy heart. We see Ryoga in the vicinity, but he does not yet make his appearance. Finally, Ranma masters the ability to lead his opponents in a spiral with an ice cold demeanor.

Cologne then tells Akane and Ukyo to pack up and leave. Cologne points out that for the next part of the training, Ranma needs an opponent on whom he will be willing to unleash the final blast. Ranma realizes that she's right, that he can't do that to Akane or Ukyo.

At that point, Ryoga shows up and offers to be Ranma's opponent for the training, having overheard this last bit. Ranma, surprised, asks, "You came all the way out here for me?" Ryoga answers, "Of course not!" and Akane thinks to herself, "Don't tell me he got lost again."

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 4

On learning at school that not only Ranma is absent, but also Ukyo, Akane pays a visit to Ucchan's restaurant. There she finds a notice that the restaurant is temporarily closed and where Ukyo is currently located. So Akane packs a backpack, and heads off to join them in Yomogi Valley (the moxibustion capital). Ranma and his father are out there training in an attempt to find a way for Ranma to recover his strength. Ukyo was asked along to cook for them, since she's a chef (and happy for the chance for some time with Ranma). Naturally they wouldn't have asked Akane to come for such a reason, since her cooking tends to be poisonous.

Genma concludes that their training there is useless, and they need to focus on getting the chart back from Happosai. He trains Ranma in a new technique to do so, called the Crouch of the Wild Tiger. It turns out to be a technique for apologizing. Ranma is incensed. At that point Cologne shows up, also wishing to cure her future great-grandson-in-law (we earlier learned that her great-granddaughter Shampoo is currently back in China on a visit).

Cologne proceeds to demonstrate a technique she thinks Ranma could use, even in his weakened state, to defeat Happosai. It is called the Hiryū Shōten Ha, and it goes on in the manga to become one of Ranma's strongest techniques in its various forms. Akane sees a blast in the distance, and Ranma lands hard right in front of her. Ranma leaps to his feet without noticing her, saying how amazing that technique is, and that he'll be able to defeat the old pervert. Cologne informs the charred Genma that she applied the technique at 20% of full power, and that the power of the technique is dependent on the power of the opponent. (Happosai is very powerful.)

Ranma announces that he'll master the technique in three days.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 3

Ranma, Akane and Ukyo journey together to the shrine which Doctor Tofu's research indicates should possess the chart showing how to cure the ultimate weakness moxibustion. The monk there tells them that tragically it was stolen one hundred years ago. He shows them a (very badly drawn) picture of the thief, which they recognize as a younger Happosai.

Back in Nerima, Happosai is sorting through some things in his pack, while Kasumi burns some trash outside. He comes across a chart, but can't remember what it is, and decides that if it were important he'd remember. So he tosses it toward the fire. Ranma shows up just in time to grab it, announcing, "This is it! The moxibustion chart!" Happosai then steals it back, now being reminded exactly what it is. In the ensuing fight, Happosai beats up the weak Ranma, and then runs away.

Ranma then runs off, thinking that the girls pity him. The next morning the Tendos wake up to find that Ranma and his father are gone, and Kasumi and Soun assume that he has given up and is acknowledging that he can't take over the dojo. Only Akane is sure that he would never give up like that, but is left wondering where he is.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 2

Akane attacks Happosai while he is ironing some stolen panties, demanding that he tell her how to cure the ultimate weakness moxibustion. Her father Soun Tendo overhears, and starts choking Happosai for what he has done to the dojo's heir (one of the few times in the manga that Soun or Genma manage to get the better of Happosai). He releases the old man when his daughter Kasumi suggests that he stop before he kills him, but then Soun also demands the cure.

Happosai's reply is, "Fool! Have you forgotten who I am? In my entire rotten life, have I ever once learned a technique that could actually help anyone?!" He is kicked into the air as they realize he doesn't know the cure.

In the meantime, Ranma is tied up in the P.E. equipment shed at school. Akane, who saw the Happy-Grams, did this to keep Ranma, who would refuse to hide, from being killed by his rivals. Hikaru Gosunkugi finds Ranma and unties him. Puzzled, Ranma asks, "Aren't you one of the guys with a grudge against me?" Hikaru replies, "Who, me?" He then shoves Ranma out the door, saying, "No. I'll just wait until the others are finished." The others turn out to be Principal Kuno, Mousse and Tatewaki, who proceed to beat up on Ranma, but also get in each others way preventing any overly serious blow from landing.

Just as they are about to all strike at once, they are all knocked away. By Ryoga. Ranma says, "What ... you're saving me for yourself?" Ryoga replies, "Don't insult me! I can't stand people who pick on the weak!" Ranma is quite upset on hearing this, and attacks Ryoga, uselessly.

Akane visits Doctor Tofu, whose office looks like a disaster, covered in books and scrolls. He tells her that there is a chance of a cure, a chart in a remote hiding place which shows the moxibustion to counter the ultimate weakness moxibustion.

Ukyo finds Ranma. She tells him that she'll take care of him, that all he'll have to do for the rest of his life is watch over their children. She points out that in his weak state, he can't be the heir of the Tendo dojo, so his engagement to Akane has no point, leaving only his engagement to herself. Ranma, upset, says the only thing on his mind is getting his strength back, that he doesn't care about the dojo. Naturally, at that precise moment Akane had walked in behind him.

Akane hits Ranma over the head, telling him that she came to tell him about a possible cure, but just see if she'll tell him now. Ranma proceeds to fawn all over Akane, massaging her shoulders, etc., while she repeats, "I'm not telling." Ukyo looks on in disbelief at his antics.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 1

16 year old martial artist Ranma Saotome is walking home from school eating a snack, when the ancient martial arts master Happosai goes leaping by, carrying a bag of girls' panties. He is being chased by a group of girls angry about having their panties stolen. Ranma distracts the old man by throwing the snack into his mouth, allowing the girls to catch him and beat him soundly.

Happosai shows up at the Tendo home at suppertime, looking the worse for wear. Ranma smirks and asks, "Still alive, huh, freak?" In revenge, Happosai attempts to strike Ranma with something from his pipe, which Ranma manages to dodge and grab, recognizing it as moxibustion (burning moxa). While distracted, Happosai hits Ranma in the back with a second dose. Ranma screams in pain at being burned, and Happosai leaves (forcefully).

The next morning on the way to school, Tatewaki Kuno attacks Ranma, who smiles, says "Morning!" and kicks Kuno in the face. Except Kuno is unaffected, saying, "Do you call that a kick? I barely felt it." Ranma, much puzzled, kicks Kuno in the face again, with no effect. He dodges a blow and punches furiously, over and over. Unfazed, Kuno knocks Ranma unconscious. Realizing that he has beaten Ranma at last, he embraces Akane and declares, "You are mine, Akane Tendo!" She then boots him over the horizon.

Confused and angry, Ranma tries to punch a hole in a nearby wall. Except he hits a kid on a tricycle by accident. Except the toddler is unharmed and pushes Ranma backward with a finger. Ranma and Akane visit Doctor Tofu Ono, who figures out what Happosai did to Ranma, describing to them the effects of the "ultimate weakness moxibustion." Doctor Tofu sadly tells them that no cure is known, that no one any longer knows the moxibustion which counters the ultimate weakness moxibustion. The conclusion is that Ranma will be weak for the rest of his life. Ranma runs off, choking.

In the meantime, Happosai is aerially distributing "Happy-Grams" announcing Ranma's weakness. In particular, these fall into the hands of Ranma's rivals: Tatewaki Kuno, his father Principal Kuno, the Chinese amazon Mousse, and Ryoga Hibiki.

A note about Principal Kuno.
For purposes of Moxibustion Violation, I am following a timeline created by M.Zephyr which supposes that the principal has not yet returned to Japan. So in MV, no one knows about him yet. Since Principal Kuno does not play any major role in the story arc in the manga, this inconsistency causes no particular problem.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Preliminary

A commenter brought to my attention that while it is probable that most readers of my story Moxibustion Violation have previously read the manga series Ranma 1/2, this is not necessarily true of all readers. Those who haven't would therefore be unfamiliar with the ultimate weakness moxibustion story arc from the series, which would hamper their understanding of the set up of my story. Therefore, I propose to provide a summary here of that particular storyline from the manga.

This particular arc consists of twelve chapters (which I will list here as simply chapters 1–12). In the English translation published by VIZ, these start with chapter 6 in volume 11 and conclude with chapter 6 in volume 12. In the Japanese, or in translations based off of its numbering such as the Ranma project scanlations, the first chapter is chapter 1 of volume 13, and the conclusion is in chapter 1 of volume 14.
