Another MV Continuation

Just found out that someone else has been writing a continuation of Moxibustion Violation starting this past August. For the record, I have no objection to people doing this sort of thing. I look upon it as fan-fiction based on my fan-fiction, and since mine is fan-fiction, I really don't have any place to complain. (So long as direct plagiarism is avoided, of course.)

However, I do like to know if someone is writing something of the sort. If you choose to do so, please notify me. You can leave a comment on my original story, on the blog here, or look up my email on my blog profile and just drop me a note.

In case you're interested, the story is Moxibustion Violation: Down the Rabbit Hole by RedKami on ArchiveOfOurOwn, which is supposedly supposed to be part of a larger series called "Wonderland Princess."

Please note, I haven't read this myself, and don't intend to do so. (A matter of personal policy when my story is unfinished.) So as far as I know, it could be great or atrocious, though more likely somewhere in between like most fan-fiction.

MV Comic

A couple of days ago an anonymous reviewer from AssTR suggested that I should republish Moxibustion Violoation as a comic book, by which I presume he meant in a manga/dojinshi style.

I only wish I could. But I'm afraid that I'm not that good an artist. Not to mention having no idea where I'd find that sort of time.

Revenge

So, it's been seven months since I last posted in this blog, aside from replies to comments. How time flies.

Several people have written to me to warn me about Origami's story Moxibustion Revenge, starting with Origami himself. I haven't read it. I don't intend to read it. Clearly any other person's ideas will deviate from my own plans for the story, even if it wasn't obvious from his summary, and all questions of merit (or lack thereof) aside I wouldn't want the presence of his plot within my brain acting in the nature of static when thinking over my own plans.

Yes, I still have plans for MV. No, I don't know when I'll get back to writing it. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that my heart and other major organs will keep functioning until I do.

On the question of whether I object to someone writing a story based on mine, the answer is no. (Though naturally I'd prefer that anything of the sort be well written — about which I can't comment for M. Revenge since I haven't read it.) Frankly, I feel that any such objection on my part would be utter hypocrisy. After all, I've borrowed another author's characters, settings, etc. to write my story. Who am I to say that someone can't do the same with what I've written?

I will say that if I ever complete MV according to my plans, then Ranma and Akane will escape from the clutches of their abusers, and several deserving people will get their just desserts. But, again according to the outline I was following, a number of other things were going to happen between now and then.

Not doing well

Sorry not to have updated in so long. The truth is, my health took a turn for the worse back in September. A minor event that put me in the hospital for a couple of days, and pretty much wiped me out. I was forced to take some time off from work, and haven't had the energy for doing much other than reading and watching TV. (Great football game today.)

Let me tell you, getting older sucks. It sure would be nice to go back to being 20 again. Or 30. Or 40 ...

At this time, it is still my intention to continue writing. I really don't want to leave MV where it currently is. I actually do have an ending in mind, and would like to get there. However, if I can get back to writing, I may need to fast forward over some parts in order to try to make sure that I get to that end. Well, time will tell.

One of my reviewers suggested that the problem was with the point I had reached in the story, and that maybe I should try starting a new story. It was a reasonable thing to think, and in fact, I've had a few thoughts that way myself. Unfortunately, a couple of half-hearted attempts to start something new haven't proved very successful either. It might still be good advice, but it seems like everything is going to remain stuck where it is until I can find the energy to start writing at all.

A storm named Irene

Hurricane Irene is passing over. Battened down, though risk in this location is not too high. I also finally seem to be on the recovery from my illness. Fingers crossed.

To Zenta. (1) Concerning your request for a futanari Akane fucking girl-Ranma — sorry, but no. Dick-girls are not a fetish of mine, in any way, shape or form. I am willing to consider giving Akane, or one of the other girls, either a temporary or permanent Jusenkyo curse which turns her fully male, and then letting her screw Ranma or the other girls. I doubt that I'll be doing that with Akane in Moxibustion Violation, but I might do something of the sort with Ukyo.

To Zenta. (2) Regarding your question whether the Amazons will have a role in Moxibustion Violation. The answer is “no” they're in China and I'm planning to leave them there. I'm quite willing to consider using them in other, future stories, but I don't intend for them to make an appearance in MV. Oh, and as to whether Ranma and Akane will be cured in the end and get their revenge, I guess you'll just have to keep on reading to find out (and hope that I eventually bring the story to the conclusion I intend).

I'm afraid that I've been spending time the last couple days which I should have spent writing instead playing the flash game Atomized which was posted to Hentai Foundry. And it isn't even a hentai game! But I do have the #2 score of 4962 (for which I gave my initials H.S.). I find it strangely addictive.

tuatara's Review

This post is in response to the review by tuatara of my story Moxibustion Violation, which appeared on AFFnet on 2011-07-22. In fact, he apparently created an account on AFFnet just to leave the review.

First, let me say that I'm happy to get reviews of all kinds, positive or negative. Hell, what's shocking to me, given the type of story I've written, is that I haven't received a ton of negative reviews. And tuatara's review wasn't even really negative, at least in regard to the story, only toward the other reviewers. I do wish that AFFnet would give me a means to respond to reviews, aside from putting responses in an author's note in the next chapter, when I finally get around to posting the next chapter. Hell, anybody else on the planet could respond to one of these reviews by writing a review of his own. But if I do that the administrators will hide the story and threaten to delete it (since this is precisely what they did when I made some responses of that sort).

Second, I don't want to say anything particularly negative to this reviewer. His review was civil, and he's entitled to his opinion. And I want to hear that opinion. The reviews give me a chance to hear how my readers as a whole feel, and this is how one of them feels.

At the same time, it definitely feels to me as if he's off target. He says, "if I'm to take many of these reviews at face value." Who would take anything related to non-vanilla porn at face value? It's all about fantasy. I sincerely hope there is no one reading my story who cannot separate fantasy from reality. Anyone who would wish for non-consensual scenes from MV to take place in reality would be a sick, sick person.

When people write reviews to express the pleasure they've experienced in reading the story, they are expressing their pleasure in the fantasy. When they tell me what they enjoyed in the story, or would like to see happen, and so forth, it is a given that they are telling me what they liked or hope for from the fantasy. I don't see how anyone could mistake this as a statement of what they like or would enjoy in reality, or even anything remotely close to that. I have certainly never received any such impression (of the latter sort) from any of my reviews, and I hope I never do.

In the end, as with any porn, you should read the things which appeal to your fantasies and avoid the things which don't, and never confuse your fantasies with reality. It seems to me that should go for reviews of such stories as well, at least regarding the reviewers' emotional responses to the story. So I suppose that tuatara is making the right decision to avoid reading any further reviews, if he finds he has difficulty reading them in that manner.

Visiting

No writing today, although I did a little more planning.

I'll be visiting relatives through July 4 and beyond. I'm taking a laptop, so hope / might get some writing done. Probably not as much as I'd like to pretend to myself that I will.

The other students at school are going to know about Ranma's weakness. How could they not? They knew about it before the moxibustion chart was shredded. It would only be natural to ask Ranma if he found a cure, and he couldn't easily get away with lying and saying yes. Which means that Ranma is probably going to have to depend upon Ryoga to be a "protector" at school, concerning anyone who might have a grudge or just want to take advantage of her. I'm sure that Ranma is just going to love that state of affairs.

Kagome Pairings

I've written some of chapter 30. Ukyo's first time playing with Ranma and Akane under Ryoga's rules. She isn't thrilled to find that Ranma is stuck as a girl and thus can't service her as a boy, but agrees that it's not a bad idea that her former fiancé won't be able to screw Akane anytime soon.

I was reading an Inuyasha lemon yesterday, pairing Inuyasha and Kagome. It got me thinking about something. I enjoy Inuyasha/Kagome lemons. I can also enjoy lemons, dark or otherwise, in which Kagome has sex with Koga, Miroku, Naraku, Shippo, bandits, Hojo, male schoolmates, or other strangers in the past or present (though I'm not partial to these as ordinary pairings). What I am totally unable to read, as ordinary pairing or lemon, dark, light or in-between, is any suggestion of a relationship and/or sex between Kagome and Sesshomaru. It's not that I can't stand reading Sesshomaru pairings - I have no problem if he's paired with Rin, Kagura, or someone else. It's particularly strange when you consider the large number of Kagome/Sesshomaru shippers out there in the fan-fiction universe.

Planning for MV 30

I did some planning for chapter 30 tonight. No writing yet though. Chapter 29 ended on New Year's Day, and the next school term should be starting about a week later. My current plan is that chapter 30 will cover some events of that week, and leave me positioned to start the next school term - with associated hijinks - in chapter 31.

As people familiar with the manga are aware, the magic of the Dragon's Whisker reached its expiration date shortly. However, if Ranma is careful about not turning into a guy - and Ryoga and the rest of the gang would also be more than willing to help her avoid hot water and stay a girl - it might be quite a while before she realizes that the magic has worn off. In other words, I'm planning to leave Ranma stuck as a girl for a while, before she finally finds out it's safe to change back to a guy without going bald.

I don't know how many chapters there are yet to come. There are a number of developments I have planned which can't take place all at once. I do have a resolution in mind which is gradually become clearer as I get closer to it. In any case, I'm pretty sure there are going to be a good many chapters yet before the story ends. What worries me is that at my current pace, that could take years, and I don't want it to take years. So I hope that somehow I can start writing faster again. Still, que sera sera.

Chapter 29 Up

Chapter 29 was posted a little over an hour ago. I'm fairly happy with it, although I feel a bit like the end of the chapter was, sort of, like I said "I'm going to stop now". In other words, kind of bland, like I just chopped it off at that point.

One thing I definitely feel is that there's a lot more plot, and a lot less sex, at the moment. I need to try to change that, or at least balance it a little more. I think it may be a continuing side effect of my meds. At least I feel more willing to write now, then I felt at one point. But the parts with the heavy breathing still don't seem to be doing quite as much for me as they did back when I started writing this. Ah well, I intend to keep going so long as I have any interest in it at all. I just hope I can last long enough to give the story the resolution I have in mind.

Since it came up in an email someone sent me, I want to remind people that this site seems to require acceptance of third party cookies be turned on in order to post comments. Or at least it did at one time, so I assume that was the source of his problem adding a comment.

Any special requests for indignities / embarrassments Ranma should experience while attending school as a girl?

MV 29 Draft Done

I have brought chapter 29 of Moxibustion Violation to a point where I am satisfied with ending the chapter. I'll try to find time tomorrow to clean it up so that I can post it.

MV 29 Progress

For some reason, Google Chrome is really misbehaving trying to make this post. It crashed a couple of times. Finally switched to Firefox.

In any case, I wanted to report that I've made some good progress on chapter 29 of Moxibustion Violation. I've finished the scene on New Year's morning between Ryoga and Kodachi. Although I don't want to make any promises, I've got a reasonable hope of posting the chapter by the end of the coming weekend. I've got my fingers crossed, anyway.

I tried reading The Dragons of Spirit and Love on FFnet, and just couldn't. It reinforces something I've already realized. When it comes to a story which is clearly erotica/porn, I find rape and other coerced sex an exciting, arousing element of the story. Because I see the entire story as fantasy, and don't get as "involved" as I do in non-erotic stories. In those other types of stories, where I want to suspend disbelief and get "into" the story, I don't like to have something ugly and dark like rape occur. It's a bit of a bipolar attitude I suppose.

More 29

I've had to work overtime the last few weekends, which hasn't left me time for much of anything. At least not once I took care of things I had to do. I did get a chunk of chapter 29 written today, but still have a long way to go. Hopefully sometime within the next few weeks the pressure will ease up some, and I'll be able to get some more writing done.

29 Begun

I had to work overtime this weekend, but I managed to begin work on chapter 29. I'm currently working on the scene which takes place at the Tendo home on the night of New Year's Eve (approximately the time that Ryoga is turning the tables on Kodachi in her dungeon). Gosunkugi should be showing up shortly so that Akane can keep the promise that she made to him in chapter 27.

Thoughts on 28

Just some thoughts on the chapter now that it's up, and I've received a few reviews.

I had been considering bring Kodachi into the story eventually, although not necessarily as another molester, and this was definitely sooner than my original intent. However, it did give me the opportunity to set up a few things, in a way which might have worked better than the approach I first planned. A couple that I can reveal right now - first, I could let Ryoga's Jekyll side out for a while and even allow him to be tortured in a minor way, to remind everyone that he still exists inside the guy. Second, this provided a means to keep Ryoga away overnight, which is the night of the New Year, a very important night in Japanese culture and one where Gosunkugi had extracted a promise from Akane regarding what she'll be doing at midnight.

Neither of those things required Kodachi, but I wanted Ryoga with someone, and it was too soon for him to play with Ukyo again. Putting Kodachi in the scene also allowed me to set up something that I haven't fully made up my mind about, but if I go with it, it should slowly emerge over several upcoming chapters.

As for the question from "Anon" as to whether I will bring Shampoo into Haido's clutches, the answer is no. The Joketsuzoku are in China, will stay in China, and will not be appearing in the story. They - particularly Cologne - would be too upsetting to the balance of power, both as it exists right now, and where I want it to end up. I don't object in principle to their presence in Ranma porn, and may even use them in some future story, if I ever manage to finish writing this one.

Next chapter should have the night of the New Year (back at the Tendos), the morning after for Ryoga and Kodachi, Ryoga's return to the Tendo home, and more of the dragon's whisker saga.

MV 28 Posted

Okay, chapter 28 is finally posted. I never did remember what other thing I wanted to do in the final scene. It didn't have to do with the stuff she put on Ryoga's dick - I originally planned to put some on her as well, but made a conscious decision against it later. Now that I've posted the chapter, I'll probably remember what it is within the hour. For now, I've got other things to get to. Like that new book I want to read.

Forgetting Something

Well, I've finished the rewriting. I need to make a final pass with the spellcheck, and take care of formatting issues for the sites where I'll be posting it. That's three different formats, one for AFFnet, one for my web site on asstr, and the last a purely text version for asstr. I've automated the process somewhat, so it isn't too onerous.

What's bugging me at the moment is I'm certain I've forgotten something I wanted to include in the last scene. I'm sure that as I was approaching that point earlier today, I had an idea for something important I wanted to add. But now I can't remember what it was. Very frustrating. I'm going to let my subconscious knock it around for a bit, and see if it can find the missing piece. I'm not planning to post tonight anyway - it's getting late, and I want to take care of a few things before bed rather than dicker with the formatting crap right now.

I probably won't have time to do anything with the story for the next few weeks after this chapter. Like I said in a previous post, we have a major push at work for the end of April, and I'll be busy working on my taxes for the next couple of weekends. But I'll definitely get chapter 28 up tomorrow, one way or another.

Polishing Chapter 28

I'm a large portion of the way through cleaning up chapter 28. As I feared, I didn't get started on it until this morning. Then my wife dragged me out shopping, to a movie, and to a restaurant after. But I'm back to work on it now, and am hopeful of finishing up tonight. Just thought I'd take a quick break for this update.

If all goes well (crossing my fingers) I'll post the chapter tomorrow. I.e., Sunday.

I'm even holding off on reading a new book I bought while I try to get this finished up.

MV 28 Draft Complete

It took far too long, but I've finally completed the first draft of chapter 28 of Moxibustion Violation. Mind, it's not ready to be posted yet. I still need to go through and clean it all up, but that's generally not as hard as writing it in the first place. I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever get this chapter finished, so I'm pleased to know that the answer is yes, I have finished it.

I'm not going to make any guarantees about when I'll get it posted. Soon, I hope, naturally. But work has been pretty hectic recently - we have a major target around the end of April, and the closer we get the more upper management is pressing us.

Hard to believe it's finally Spring, eh? (For those of you in the northern hemisphere.)

Ugh. I just had the unpleasant thought - sometime in the next couple of weekends I'm going to have to see about getting my taxes done. Oh joy.

Crouch of the Wild Tiger

Imagine me doing the Crouch of the Wild Tiger, apologizing to everyone for not finishing the chapter this weekend. I meant to. But I got caught up in following all the news of the disaster in Japan, and time slipped away from me. I did get some more written, but didn't finish the chapter. Sorry, sorry, sorry.

I really am hoping to complete chapter 28 as soon as possible.

Why, oh why, won't someone do a decent Akane for Super Deepthroat? Although the recent Disney characters have been pretty good.

Daylight Savings Time is, in my opinion, one of the stupider ideas society has had.
