Visiting Browsers

Got an email from Blogger mentioning some of the recent features they've added, so I decided to check out the "Stats" page they mentioned. Encountered one curious point there. It turns out that just over half of the people reading my blog are using Firefox as their browser, while only a quarter are using IE. This made me look up some statistics on browser usage in general - I hadn't realized that Firefox had gained so much ground on IE, although still behind IE by most people's counts. I wonder if there's any reason other than statistical anomaly for the lower percentage of IE users coming here?

For those who are curious, the next three most common browsers were Chrome, Opera and Safari, at roughly five percent apiece.

Painful Reading

This is more or less a response to MSA's review of 2010-12-17 on AFFnet.

I understand that feeling of rage, upset, or just sick awfulness that can overcome one when reading a story where something bad happens to a character, or some character behaves in a particularly appalling fashion. I too have had the experience of reading a story only to be upset, in an extreme fashion, by events within it - upset to the point of wanting to step into the story to do something about it. Upset to a degree where I can't get my thoughts away from it, for hours, even an entire day.

But I don't believe that I've ever had that feel when reading pornography. It's like I have two different mentalities for reading stories. In the "ordinary" mode, reading about abuse of a character, particularly a character I like, can be very distressing. But in "pornography" mode such events are more expected, and also feel less real, more like they're "just" fantasy.

My story Moxibustion Violation is definitely intended as pornography. If I were a reader (instead of the author), and I approached MV as ordinary fan-fiction instead of pornography, I seriously doubt I would ever have gotten past the first chapter. I would have been in a frothing rage at the author for daring to write such a brutal rape of a character I like. But approached as pornography it's completely different, it's not merely less upsetting - I can actually find it arousing. I believe that something similar is true for me as the author (instead of reader), except that I believe I'm even more insulated by the act of creation.

So I'm glad to hear that people feel emotionally invested in the story. But I hope that everyone keeps in mind that MV is intended as erotica, and that of a pretty dark kind. Reading it on any other basis, well, it just seems to me that doing so would be far too painful.

Kazuma Review of 27

I just read Kazuma's review of chapter 27:

I've been keeping up with the story since it started, but i really got to say that the idea of adding Ukyo to the equation is a terrible idea. would of prefer that you killed her off, but then i just hated Ukyo in a general since since she was first introduced in the manga. I look forward to what you plan on doing but I have ideas and not too fond of 'em.

Everyone has their own tastes in characters of course. For each reader, only time will tell whether what I do with the character will be interesting or not. For what it's worth, I don't expect Ukyo to become as much a main character as, say, either Ryoga or Gosunkugi. Still, she will be around.

The real reason I'm making this post in reply to the review is because of a fascinating coincidence. Immediately prior to reading this review, I was watching an episode of the anime Kaze no Stigma on Hulu. The male protagonist of that show is named ... wait for it ... Kazuma.

MV 27 Posted

Okay, chapter 27 is posted. I didn't make you wait too long after last chapter's cliffhanger, a couple days past a couple of weeks, but that was a bit longer than I was planning to make you wait. Well, it's there now. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Sunday Night

As suspected, I won't be posting the chapter tonight. I had to take care of some chores. Hopefully, I'll be able to get it up in the next few days.

MV 27 Complete

I've just completed the final scene of chapter 27 of Moxibustion Violation. Now I've got to go back through the chapter and clean it up before I can post it. I'm not too hopeful I'll be able to manage that tonight, but I'll give it a shot. At any rate, I'm getting close to getting the chapter out there.

MV 27 Majority Done

I made the right decision to cut chapter 26 off where I did. Chapter 27 is getting fairly long, and it all has to be there. It's currently up to more than eleven thousand words, and there's more to go. I think there will only be one more scene, or at any rate, just one more significant scene. It might turn into a fairly long scene however.

By the way, there's plenty of sex in this chapter.

Unfortunately, it's late Sunday night, and I don't anticipate having much time to write on the weekdays. I hope I'll get a chance to do so, but I probably won't. So I'm crossing my fingers I'll finish writing the chapter next weekend. I really need to make an effort, because the closer we get to Christmas, the less time that I'll have on the weekends as well.

Dragon's Whisker Conclusion

Genma is back in the Tendo home, admiring the dragon's whisker which he has stolen, thinking about the hair he will soon grow. He tries rubbing his scalp with the whisker. He strikes his scalp with the whisker. He tries wearing the whisker on top of his head. He realizes in despair that he doesn't know how it works.

Ranma shows up, trying to get the whisker back. Genma offers Ranma ten yen to tell him how the whisker works (this is approximately ten cents in U.S. coinage). Akane shows up, demanding to know if he wants Ranma stuck as a girl for the rest of her life, because the whisker has no effect when Ranma is a girl. Cologne is also there and explains that if Ranma turns male without tying his hair with the whisker, his hair will grow until it runs out. Genma says, "How horrible!" and then says, "Let's see," and pours hot water on Ranma. Ranma screams as his hair starts growing. Genma holds some of the hair and tells him that he's a lucky child. Ranma replies that he might agree if he wasn't about to become an orphan, then stomps Genma.

Happosai appears and steals the whisker. Ranma turns female and exposes her chest to distract Happosai. Genma steals the whisker. Ranma hits Genma and takes the whisker back. Happosai steals the whisker from Ranma. Cologne laments, "Master against disciple ... father against son ... what evil the dragon's whisker brings." Akane tells her, "Looks like a typical day with Ranma to me."

Happosai, still in possession of the whisker, finds and beats up the Chinese pork bun men, ordering them to tell him how to use it. They do so, then he ties them up as he prepares the porridge, while they angrily complain about his intent to keep it all for himself. Ranma appears out of nowhere, lands on Happosai, takes the whisker, then leaps away while retying her pigtail. Happosai throws the pot of hot water, which changes Ranma back to male, but he has finished tying the whisker on his pigtail.

Genma leaps for Ranma, pretending to congratulate him, but Ranma kicks him away. While he does so, Happosai snips off his pigtail, causing his hair to grow explosively. Ranma, completely fed up, ties tires, cement blocks, and other things to his hair, and uses them to attack Happosai and Genma. In the ensuing battle, Ranma gets the upper hand, but while strangling Happosai with some of his hair, the hair pulls out of his head. Ranma realizes that it's no longer growing. Ranma is terrified that he has used up all of his hair. Genma attempts to cheer him up by pointing out that Ranma is his son, so he was bound to lose it all eventually anyway. For some reason this doesn't comfort Ranma and he starts to run away.

Except Ranma realizes that the dragon's whisker porridge could grow new hair for him. Ranma attempts to take the whisker back from Happosai. Happosai realizes he has lost the dragon's whisker. Ranma collapses, but Cologne examines him, realizes that the hair on his head is not growing, and thereby concludes that the dragon's whisker effect has worn off. However, Ranma has passed out, so will only learn this when he comes to. Meanwhile, Happosai and Genma are trying to find the dragon's whisker.

Cut to the Nekohanten. It turns out the Chinese pork bun men managed to make off with the dragon's whisker. They brought it to the restaurant and had Cologne's great-granddaughter Shampoo make them the special rice porridge using the whisker. The Chinese men are convinced that their hair is growing (it isn't) and we learn from Shampoo that she learned from the restaurant owner back in China that the freshness date on the dragon's whisker just ran out.

Dragon's Whisker 3

Still in the P.E. equipment shed, Ranma tells Akane the story of the dragon's whisker. After being cursed at Jusenkyo, but before leaving the Bayankala Mountains, Ranma was wandering in her female form. She was extremely hungry. A man ran by holding a bowl of rice porridge. He was being chased by another man who yelled, "Stop, thief!" The pursuer is recognizable as the owner of the restaurant who was attacked by the "pork bun men".

Ranma grabs the bowl, kicks the thief away, and eats the porridge before the restaurant owner can say anything. He steps up, opens her shirt to look at her breasts, and says, "A girl. Good thing." Ranma clobbers him and asks what he means. He takes Ranma back to his restaurant and feeds her, while explaining that the rice porridge is the restaurant's secret item. The stock is made with dragon's whisker, which he holds up to show. He tells Ranma that it has no effect on women, but when a man eats it, it fulfills a certain ambition. He goes on to say that many a battle has been fought over the porridge, but it's truly lucky that Ranma is female. Except, before he can finish saying the word "female", Ranma pours a kettle over his head, transforming into a boy.

The frames are drawn so that we do not see male Ranma. The restaurant owner laughs, saying "So you're a man." Ranma thumps him over the head several times, and asks, "Is this what you mean by ambition?" The restaurant owner holds up the dragon's whisker and says, "Until the effect runs out, you can use this as a seal." He allowed Ranma to take the dragon's whisker. Akane thinks to herself, "If that's the whisker's power, no wonder men fight over it."

Cut to the Nekohanten (a Chinese ramen restaurant), where Genma is asking the ancient Chinese amazon Cologne if she knows the secret of the dragon's whisker. Cologne tells him that the whisker is trouble, but she cannot tell him about it. That she especially cannot tell him. As Genma walks along puzzling over her words, Happosai and the four Chinese men all run by. Genma realizes what they all have in common, including himself - that they are all bald. He guesses the secret - that the dragon's whisker grows hair.

Cut back to the P.E. equipment shed, where Ranma is surrounded by masses and masses of hair, growing from his head. Recall that Akane got the dragon's whisker back from the Chinese man who stole it. Akane cuts Ranma's hair, rebraids his pigtail, and ties it off with the dragon's whisker, which stops it from growing. Although Akane's usual trouble with handiwork manifests itself, and the pigtail she ties stands up over Ranma's head.

Genma bursts in, demanding to know how Ranma could dare to keep this from his own father, by which Ranma realizes he now knows the secret. Happosai and the four Chinese men attack, but Genma defends his son, knocking them all away. Ranma and Akane look a bit surprised. Genma turns back, looking very sad, and asks why Ranma can't trust his own father. He goes on in this vein, while trying to get his hands on the whisker, but Ranma stops him. They fight, and Ranma clobbers his father. Genma starts spouting more crap, and this time manages to steal the whisker while Ranma is distracted.

Ranma starts to chase Genma, but is stopped when several girls running by step on his rapidly growing hair. Cologne shows up and splashes him, turning Ranma into a girl. He asks what she did that for, but answers it himself when he remembers that he is unaffected as a girl. Cologne warns Ranma that if he doesn't get the dragon's whisker back, then within a week he will completely run out of hair.

Dragon's Whisker 2

On the way to school the next morning, Akane tries to get the secret of the dragon's whisker out of Ranma, but he tells her it's none of her business. The Chinese men set out a trap for Ranma, a simple lasso on the ground with a pork bun in the center. Except Happosai grabs the bait instead. When they try to beat him up for interfering, he clobbers them. Happosai wants to know what they're doing, and they say all they want is the dragon's whisker. When Happosai asks what it is, they whisper to him. Happosai looks greatly startled, saying, "What?! So that is the legendary dragon's whisker!"

Cut to gym period at the school. Akane is fuming that Ranma never tells her anything important, and wondering what the something terrible is that would happen. Ranma goes to catch the ball, but it turns out to be one of Happosai's explosives instead. Happosai, surrounded by a large battle aura, faces Ranma and demands the dragon's whisker. When Ranma attempts to attack Happosai, the old man levels him with a chi blast. Ranma manages to get up just before Happosai gets to his pigtail, and throws a large number of bras at him to distract him. Akane wonders what Ranma is doing with all of those bras. However, Happosai is not distracted, much to everyone's shock, and clobbers Ranma.

Ranma manages to run away. The Chinese men attack him, throwing buns emitting knock-out gas. Ranma tries to get away from them, despite growing dizzy. Akane is looking for Ranma, and spots the chase. One of the Chinese men gets his hand on the dragon's whisker, but Ranma manages to knock them away. Except it's revealed, as they are flying off, that one of the Chinese men is smiling and holding the dragon's whisker. Ranma sees this, and looks over his shoulder in fear at his unraveling hair.

Akane manages to stomp the man holding the dragon's whisker. She takes it from him and holds it up, calling Ranma. However, Ranma yells at Akane not to look at him, and runs away. Akane chases after him. She corners him in the P.E. equipment shed. Akane tries to pull Ranma out from under a bunch of mats, saying, "Why are you hiding from me?" Ranma yells, "Get away, idiot!"

The chapter ends with a frame in which Akane is rearing back in shock. She exclaims, "Ranma ...! You ... You ..."

Dragon's Whisker 1

The story starts in the Bayankala mountain range in China, the same mountains that hold the valley of Jusenkyo. A group of men have accosted the owner of a small restaurant, asking him where he has hidden the 4000 year old treasure known as the "dragon's whisker". They force a confession from him, and he tells them that a foreigner with a pigtail took it. Then he draws them a picture of this foreigner, which is more or less recognizable as Ranma's head.

Cut to Nerima, where a representative of the city is at the Tendo dojo, asking for help against a group which is going around cutting off the pigtails of people who wear their hair so. Soun agrees, and he, Genma, Ranma and Akane go out in a group hunting for these men. Ranma points out that his hair should be perfect bait.

They are attacked, but Ranma defeats them easily by himself. When Soun threatens one if he doesn't explain why they're doing this, he tells them that they're looking for the dragon's whisker. This startles Ranma considerably, which Akane notices. The men realize that Ranma looks just like their picture, attack again, and Ranma knocks them far away.

Later, Ranma is ruminating out on a balcony of the Tendo house, while Akane is just inside watching him, remembering his reaction and wondering what this dragon's whisker has to do with his pigtail. At that moment, and despite the late night hour, some painters start painting the balcony. They get into a tussle with Ranma, and a can of paint is spilled all over his hair. Ranma knocks them far away again.

Ranma goes inside and washes his hair at a sink, while the Tendo sisters observe him. Akane asks him why he doesn't untie his pigtail, and Kasumi points out he won't get all the paint out if he doesn't. But he refuses. Genma comes in, tells him not to be stupid, and tries to untie it. Ranma kicks him away viciously. Nabiki says that if he's going to resist, then they'll have to untie it by force, and she and Kasumi start attempting to do so. Ranma runs off but comes across Happosai, who knocks him out.

The Chinese men get to Ranma first and announce, in the hearing of the others, that the string holding together the pigtail is the one and only dragon's whisker. This wakes Ranma up, who declares, "The dragon's whisker belongs to me!" and kicks the Chinese men away. The family insists that he tell them what this dragon's whisker is, but Ranma will only say that it is his "seal". That if he takes it off, something terrible will happen.

The chapter ends with Akane wondering what secrets the little string holds, and the Chinese men pepping themselves up to steal it.

Dragon's Whisker Preliminary

Starting in chapter 26 of my story Moxibustion Violation, events occur which correspond to the canon story arc concerning the dragon's whisker. While it is my intention to write the corresponding chapters in such a way that no knowledge from the manga is necessary, it can sometimes be hard to avoid assuming that the readers are familiar with the source material. So my next few posts will summarize those chapters from the manga.

This story arc took place during four chapters, which I will refer to in these posts as chapters 1–4. In the VIZ English translation, these are chapters 1–4 of volume 14. In the Japanese, and scanlations based off of the Japanese, they are chapters 8–11 of volume 15.

MV 26 Posted

As you can see, I decided to post chapter 26 with the cliffhanger at the end. Now I just need to make sure that I don't take too long getting chapter 27 written. I've already started it, but it's almost time to head off to bed now, since I need to get up and go to work tomorrow.

I promise, the very first scene of chapter 27 will deal with whatever Ukyo has in mind for Akane.

MV 26 Possible Break

I've extended chapter 26 to some 7300 words, which is short although not the shortest of the chapters in the story. I'm thinking of stopping at this point and posting what I have as chapter 26 (after I go back and do some cleaning up). I'll probably make a decision about that tomorrow. The main argument against it would be that I'd be ending the chapter on a major cliffhanger. Also, there isn't a lot of sex in what I've done so far, although plenty of stuff does happen.

MV 26 Started

I've started writing chapter 26 of Moxibustion Violation, and so far, at least, I'm finding it fairly easy to write. I just hope I can continue.

I already have over five thousand words, which I would consider as putting me about halfway. My chapter lengths have varied quite a bit, from about seven to twelve thousand words for the most part. I seem to care more about getting certain scenes into the chapter than cutting it off at a specific length.

Still, I've only gotten a little way into my original outline for the chapter. Given the length so far, I suspect I'm going to end up dividing my planned chapter into a couple of chapters.

I would really like to continue writing right now. But it's late and tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day, and I'll need to get up fairly early. So even though I'm feeling my muse, I'm afraid I'm going to have to shut down and hope that I'm still feeling the right mood when I come back to this.

Scorpinac Review of MV 25

This is a comment on Scorpinac's review of chapter 25 of Moxibustion Violation.

Scorpinac wrote:
Somehow, I think that little boat excursion would have been more comfortable in the spring or summer time, but I digress. And Hikaru continues to gain respect, I must say. Though I must also admit to perfectly understanding his reasons. As to the close, yeah, should have seen that one coming, though sadly Ryoga covered it well. And somehow I think he's going to step things up a bit now that Soun and Genma are out of the equation for a while...though there is still Nabiki and Kasumi... Ah, well. Until chapter 26, then. Laters.

Just looked at your correction of chapter 24, and yes, that works, makes much more sense now. And since I forgot before, Ukyo really needs a shrink, doesn't she? At least she trying to control her anger, but for how long? Oh, well. Again, laters.

I definitely agree it would have been more comfortable in warmer weather. On the other hand, there would almost certainly have been other people out on the lake in that case, so likely they wouldn't have been able to get away with what they did.

Yes, Hikaru is thinking long term here.

The stuff with Ukyo in this chapter wasn't planned, the character sprung it on me. Getting rid of the fathers like that has been planned for some time. I was setting it up in the previous chapters both by revealing that Ryoga had sufficient funds for such a purpose, and with Ryoga's story about the method of curing Ranma and Akane - which now provides the excuse to send them away.

And no, there is not still Nabiki and Kasumi. Nabiki is in the U.S. now. So there is only still Kasumi. I am not planning to send Kasumi away (nor will she be gang banged by Michio and company).

Yes, Ukyo is trying to control her anger a bit. As you sense, she is unlikely to be ultimately successful.

MV 26 Outline

I've just finished outlining chapter 26 for Moxibustion Violation. Which unfortunately is no indication of how quickly I'll write it, considering that I had the outline for chapter 25 completed months ago.

There are two plots planned for chapter 26. The obvious one involves Ukyo, and what happens concerning her plans for revenge. The other one, about which I would be surprised if anyone can guess what it entails, sets up for certain things I have in mind for when the next school term starts. It involves character(s)/event(s) from the manga which have not previously made an appearance in MV.

MV 25 Stats

The new chapter has been up for about eight hours so far on AdultFanFiction, and about six hours on AssTR. Cumulative hits for the day are around 170 for AdultFanFiction, and 1700 for AssTR. There's one review.

I'm just sharing data by the way, not complaining about anything. It would be nice to have more reviews, but I'm assuming I'll get the usual number in the next few days. Almost all of which will come from readers on AdultFanFiction.

To "Anon" who's given the sole review so far - no, Ukyo won't get away Scot free. Neither is she going to become another slave to the gang. Wait and see how I balance it.

Chapter 25 on AssTR

The AssTR site is available again, and I've now updated the story there as well.

Chapter 25 Posted

I have posted chapter 25 of Moxibustion Violation on adultfanfiction.net. I also corrected a lot of typographic and spelling errors in earlier chapters, including the "suck socks" which was supposed to be "suck cocks."

So far I have not been able to update the story on asstr.org. The site is apparently down right now. I'll update it once it is available.

Chapter 25 Initial Completion

I have just finished writing chapter 25 of Moxibustion Violation!

Sort of.

I need to go back and rewrite some bits, and clean the whole thing up. So there's some more work to do before I can actually post the thing. I hope to be able to do so before the end of the coming weekend, but I've learned the hard way not to promise things like that.

I had one significant surprise before the end of the chapter. I didn't think Ukyo would get back yet. But she did. She makes an appearance, in Nerima, within this chapter.

There's more action than sex in this chapter, but hopefully that won't be too much of a problem for people who are reading. There should be plenty of sex before the story ends. For that matter, there is sex in this chapter. But the chapter is a bit on the long side, and that length is due more to the non-sex parts.

Chapter 25 on the 16th

I'm fairly pleased with progress. I got more written today, despite getting a new book to read. I think that I'm about three quarters of the way through the chapter now, with about one and a half scenes to go before the end. I'm currently wrapping up a sex scene at Gosunkugi's home. It makes me wish that I had a next door neighbor as accommodating as Hikaru (and bearing in mind that the man is presumably unaware of the non-consensual nature of what's going on there).

When I do finish writing the chapter, it is going to be necessary for me to go back through and clean it up. It's been a bit rough getting back into it, and it shows in parts.

I've also been forced to acknowledge that reduced dosage isn't the same as having the crap out of my system entirely. My libido is up, but not back to original levels. I'm an interested spectator in observing the difference between how I want my brain to react, and how it really reacts.

In case you're wondering, we're having a quiet period at work right now, and I've been trying to take advantage of it. Particularly since I can't be sure how long it will last.

More Chapter 25

I got another large chunk of chapter 25 of MV written today. I couldn't do much on the few days preceding because I was fighting some issues on my computer, although I did manage to do those summaries of the ultimate weakness moxibustion arc from the manga for this blog.

I have a definite stopping place in mind for this chapter. I figure I'm about halfway there now. I should (hopefully) have some time over the next few days to do more work on it, so long as my wife doesn't decide to fill that spare time with chores.

Hiroshi and Daisuke will be getting some more action in chapter 25.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Conclusion

While everyone on the ground watches the pair plunge from the sky, Happosai digs himself out of the ground. Angered beyond belief, he throws a Happo-fire burst at Ranma. Except it only does minor injury, and actually slows their descent. So Happosai dons a flying squirrel costume and flies up into the air to meet Ranma on the way down, demanding that he hand over the photographs. Ranma tosses the photographs to the side, distracting Happosai, and then leaps onto Happosai's back, still clutching Akane. The three of them half fall, half glide until they crash into a chain link fence at the edge of the sports field.

Akane wakes up. Her first words are, "The ... the chart ..." She grabs Ranma by the shirt. "Ranma! Where's the moxibustion chart?!" At that moment, the students bring all the confetti they gathered to Cologne, and a huge grin appears on Ranma's face as he realizes there is still hope. But when they assemble the chart from the pieces, there is one piece missing. The exact piece that shows how to cure the ultimate weakness moxibustion. Ranma is devastated.

Ranma puts on a face of false cheer, says good-bye, then takes off as fast as he can. Ukyo starts to beat the still prone Happosai with her battle spatula. Ryoga stops her, spotting the final piece of the chart stuck to Happosai's head. This is where my story Moxibustion Violation diverges from canon, since in my story they don't find that piece of the chart.

Ranma plans to leave Nerima without saying any further good-byes to anyone. Except that Akane catches up to him, still looking very disheveled from her trip in the tornado. Akane says that she won't stop him, but that she will go with him. Ranma tells her that she's stupid, but as he fails to lift his backpack, Akane points out that he needs her along to carry all his stuff. Akane tries to tell him that he doesn't have to leave, that he doesn't have to be strong, that he has other qualities (although she has trouble naming any). As they begin to argue about it, Cologne sneaks up and burns some moxibustion into Ranma's back.

Ranma screams and spins around, just as Cologne throws a big cement turf roller at him (or whatever you call those things). Ranma's outflung fist smashes the thing, much to his shock. Mousse, Tatewaki and Principal Kuno show up to attack Ranma, but he now easily defeats all three of them at once.

In the end frame, we look in on Ranma a week later. He has apparently spent that week beating up on his father, Happosai and others, and generally doing a lot of property destruction. Happosai asks the family if they'd like him to make Ranma weak again.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 11

The spectators notice that Ranma is no longer on the ground. He has jumped into the twister to try to reach Akane. Without his strength, Ranma has a hard time trying to get to her. Happosai, Mousse, Tatewaki and Principal Kuno all pop out of the twister, unconscious, and strike the ground hard enough to dig out a large crater. The student body promptly buries them.

Unable to breathe, Akane starts to pass out. It turns out that she managed to pick up the moxibustion chart and has been clutching it to her chest. Afraid of what will happen when she blacks out, she reaches out to hand the chart to Ranma. Ranma is amazed that she stepped into the heart of the blast just to save the chart for him, and tells her that she's even stupider than he thought. As she passes out, Akane says, "Hurry ... take ... it ..."

Ranma manages to grab Akane's arm, but the chart start to rip apart out of her hand as the winds clutch at it. Ranma pulls Akane against his body while staring at the chart, and declares, "Akane risked her life to give me this ... nothing's gonna take it from me!" With that, he seizes the chart with his teeth. But the winds finish shredding it into pieces as the horrified Ranma watches. The students see confetti emerge from the tornado. Cologne recognizes it for what it is, and demands that everyone gather every scrap.

Ranma is distraught, but then he wakes up to the current situation, and the unconscious girl in his arms. "Akane! I forgot about her! I can't give up yet! If nothing else ... I'll save you!" With this final thought, we see Ranma and Akane falling toward the sport field far, far below.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 10

Ranma and Happosai meet on a sports field at Furinkan High School. The student body gathers around to watch. Cologne, Genma, Ryoga and Akane are among the spectators. Ukyo is selling okonomiyaki off of a portable grill. Happosai shows off the moxibustion chart but refuses to hand it over. He starts ironing panties, releasing not a drop of battle aura.

Everyone watches the completely still Ranma, wondering what he plans. He's thinking that he never would have resorted to this if he could have helped it. That he's casting away the last of his pride. Yet, if it's to regain his strength, then he can do it. Ranma pulls out a set of photographs and shows them to Happosai. They are photographs of Ranma, in his female (cursed) form, wearing racy lingerie. Akane realizes that the sounds she heard from inside Ranma's room came from a camera. Ukyo and Ryoga are puzzled about Ranma's "secret plan", pointing out that he has made use of his female form before in fights, particularly against Happosai. Akane points out to them that this time it's different, that before he's always had boys' underwear on under a skirt, but this is the first time he has ever deliberately worn lingerie.

Happosai is staring at the photographs, shell shocked. Tatewaki Kuno appears out of nowhere, trying to get the photographs from Ranma. On seeing this threat to the photos, a massive aura bursts forth from Happosai, as he declares that they are his! The spectators are front-lit by the aura. Cologne states, "Amazing!! So much greater than his battle aura ..." Akane adds, "His lust aura could lay waste the earth!"

Seeing Happosai and Tatewaki attacking Ranma, Mousse and Principal Kuno decide to join in on the fun. Ranma manages to lead them all into a spiral, the combined auras causing the spectators to be seen in silhouette. Akane notices as the moxibustion chart falls out of Happosai's gi. Ranma throws the uppercut which unleashes an unbelievably strong cyclone, and he watches from the ground as it sweeps his attackers upward. Then he notices that Akane is also caught in it ...

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 9

Ranma leads the enraged Happosai into a perfect spiral, as Genma, Cologne, Akane and Ukyo watch from a nearby roof. At the center of the spiral, Ranma throws the corkscrew uppercut ... which fizzles. Because Happosai is gone, peeking through a window at a girl who is changing her shirt. Ranma attempts to get Happosai to fight, but the old man refuses, saying he can't attack Ranma in his weakened state due to his sense of justice. This makes everyone suspicious, since Happosai has no sense of justice. As Ranma attempts to incite the old pervert to attack, Happosai responds with, "You're only saying that because ... you want to make a poor old man ... suffer the Hiryū Shōten Ha."

Everyone wants to know how Happosai could have known that. He points out to Cologne that she seems to have forgotten his visit to her village when they were teenagers themselves (which we had learned about in an earlier story arc) and how she used that same technique on him then. (By the way, Cologne was a fox in her youth, whereas Happosai was just as ugly then as now.)

Ranma tries to do all sorts of things to make Happosai angry enough to attack, none of which work. In the end Ranma collapses, realizing he has lost, and Akane boots Happosai away.

Later Ranma is in his room alone, thinking about all the training he did, all for nothing. Then he gets an idea. Akane, strolling down the hall past his door with a shinai over her shoulder, thinking that she'll have to cheer him up, hears a clicking sound from inside his room. Ranma bursts out of the door, all confidence, saying that he's got the old man, that he has a way to bring out 120% of his aura.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 8

A little later, we see Ryoga in a tent having a nightmare about what happened as Ukyo tends him, while outside Ranma is resting with Akane applying a Band-Aid or two to him. Cologne explains how the technique works. During her explanation Ranma disappears into the tent, to thank the unconscious Ryoga for helping him, and to tell him to rest in peace. Ryoga grabs Ranma by the throat, showing he is now awake. Ranma tries to say he was just joking. Ryoga demands, "Are you telling me you forced yourself on Akane ... as a joke!" He punches Ranma through the top of the tent while Ukyo turns to Akane with a deadly glare, hefts her battle spatula, and inquires, "And just what did Ryoga mean by that, Akane?" Akane, waving a hand up and down, sweatdropping, replies, "Th-That stupid Ranma, lying about ..." Except that Ukyo interrupts and attacks, yelling that she must have seduced him. Ranma says something insulting about this in Akane's hearing, who shoves him, then Ryoga attacks him for insulting Akane, melee ensues.

Everyone packs up and returns to Nerima. We look in on Happosai, who is stealing panties, but is feeling bored without Ranma around to interfere with him. Ranma attacks Happosai, without effect, until he manages to grab the bag of panties and throws it off the roof, emptying it. A battle aura forms around Happosai, and he prepares to take revenge on Ranma.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 7

Ranma, looking at the enraged Ryoga, thinks about the fact that for his training he needs Ryoga to fight him all out. So he interrupts Akane, who is trying to explain to Ryoga that Ranma didn't do anything, and Ranma says, "I'm sorry, Akane ... It's just that ... you looked so ... so beautiful ..." Akane grows wide-eyed, not believing what she's hearing. Ranma adds, "I couldn't help forcing myself on you! Well, what's done is done, so I'm not going to make a big deal about it." Akane's head is swiveling back and forth between Ranma and Ryoga, and she uselessly attempts to protest that Ranma is lying. Ryoga attacks Ranma with deadly intent.

At first Ranma is unsuccessful at leading Ryoga in a spiral and is getting pulverized. Akane is crying, begging Ryoga not to kill him. Ranma yells at her to stay out of it, not to interfere in his training. Cologne shows up and points out to Akane what Ranma is doing, as he finally succeeds in maneuvering through the spiral. Then Cologne realizes that she never taught Ranma the final move, and Akane screams "What?!" at her. But Ranma figures it out on his own, throwing the corkscrew uppercut which takes the spirals of icy and superheated air and transforms them into a whirlwind. One so strong, that Cologne and Akane are nearly sucked into it, although Ranma at its very center is mostly unscathed aside from his clothing being torn up a bit. The unconscious Ryoga lands a long distance off, beside Ukyo and Genma.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 6

Cologne straps Ranma into a harness made of memory metal. The least amount of heat will make it contract, painfully. Therefore Ranma must be extremely careful not to release any battle aura, to remain absolutely ice cold. Cologne reminds Ryoga that he must not hold back. Ryoga attacks, and Ranma leads him in a perfect spiral. Except Cologne interrupts, whacking Ryoga over the head and calling him an idiot, telling him that she said not to hold back. Ryoga realizes the truth - in Ranma's weakened state Ryoga can't bring himself to truly attack him without holding back. No matter how much Ranma provokes him. Feeling like a failure, Ryoga runs off, with Ranma yelling for him to come back.

That night, Genma, Cologne, Ukyo and Akane are discussing the hopelessness of the situation. Cologne points out that a tremendous heat of battle is needed for the technique to work. This gets Akane thinking. Akane tracks down Ranma, who is off moping. Akane has donned some sort of gloves which she has set on fire. In her thinking, this will allow her to attack Ranma while providing a substitute for the battle aura of a true opponent. Ranma doesn't think this will work, and while they argue the fire spreads to Akane's gi. She jumps into a nearby pool of water, but her gi top has been destroyed, leaving her in her pants and bra. Ranma gives Akane his shirt.

Akane and Ranma get into a big argument, with Ranma telling her to go home, and Akane complaining that she just wanted to help, and he wants her to leave because she can't cook like Ukyo and isn't as strong as Ryoga. It finally reaches the point where she runs off in tears. Ranma, unable to stand her running off thinking the things she's thinking, stops her and tells her the truth. "I can't stand for you, of all people, to see me so weak and pathetic!"

At that point Ryoga shows up again. He sees Akane there, her own shirt gone and Ranma's around her shoulders unfastened. Tears on her face. He leaps to the conclusion that Ranma attempted to rape Akane. An absolutely massive battle aura blossoms around Ryoga, and he tells Ranma to "Prepare to die!"

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 5

The first part of Ranma's training is to defend himself from attack while leading his opponent(s) in an inward spiral. Genma, Akane and Ukyo act as his opponents. Except that instead of physical attacks, Genma pulls out a photograph of a very young Ranma, crying, standing beside a wet bed sheet (i.e., he wet it the previous night). A mortified Ranma attempts (unsuccessfully) to prevent Ukyo and Akane from seeing it. Genma next pulls out a photograph of a naked teenage Ranma falling out of a barrel in which he was bathing, because a cat frightened him (Ranma is morbidly afraid of cats). Ukyo pleads with Genma to move his thumb, which is covering Ranma's groin. An extremely red-faced Akane claims that she doesn't want to look, while looking out the corner of her eyes. Ranma is jumping around, demanding that Genma cut it out.

Cologne smacks Ranma over the head, and shows him that he didn't even come close to leading them in a spiral. She tells him that he must not be embarrassed, he must not be angry, he must master the Soul of Ice. He must make the spiral with an icy heart. We see Ryoga in the vicinity, but he does not yet make his appearance. Finally, Ranma masters the ability to lead his opponents in a spiral with an ice cold demeanor.

Cologne then tells Akane and Ukyo to pack up and leave. Cologne points out that for the next part of the training, Ranma needs an opponent on whom he will be willing to unleash the final blast. Ranma realizes that she's right, that he can't do that to Akane or Ukyo.

At that point, Ryoga shows up and offers to be Ranma's opponent for the training, having overheard this last bit. Ranma, surprised, asks, "You came all the way out here for me?" Ryoga answers, "Of course not!" and Akane thinks to herself, "Don't tell me he got lost again."

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 4

On learning at school that not only Ranma is absent, but also Ukyo, Akane pays a visit to Ucchan's restaurant. There she finds a notice that the restaurant is temporarily closed and where Ukyo is currently located. So Akane packs a backpack, and heads off to join them in Yomogi Valley (the moxibustion capital). Ranma and his father are out there training in an attempt to find a way for Ranma to recover his strength. Ukyo was asked along to cook for them, since she's a chef (and happy for the chance for some time with Ranma). Naturally they wouldn't have asked Akane to come for such a reason, since her cooking tends to be poisonous.

Genma concludes that their training there is useless, and they need to focus on getting the chart back from Happosai. He trains Ranma in a new technique to do so, called the Crouch of the Wild Tiger. It turns out to be a technique for apologizing. Ranma is incensed. At that point Cologne shows up, also wishing to cure her future great-grandson-in-law (we earlier learned that her great-granddaughter Shampoo is currently back in China on a visit).

Cologne proceeds to demonstrate a technique she thinks Ranma could use, even in his weakened state, to defeat Happosai. It is called the Hiryū Shōten Ha, and it goes on in the manga to become one of Ranma's strongest techniques in its various forms. Akane sees a blast in the distance, and Ranma lands hard right in front of her. Ranma leaps to his feet without noticing her, saying how amazing that technique is, and that he'll be able to defeat the old pervert. Cologne informs the charred Genma that she applied the technique at 20% of full power, and that the power of the technique is dependent on the power of the opponent. (Happosai is very powerful.)

Ranma announces that he'll master the technique in three days.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 3

Ranma, Akane and Ukyo journey together to the shrine which Doctor Tofu's research indicates should possess the chart showing how to cure the ultimate weakness moxibustion. The monk there tells them that tragically it was stolen one hundred years ago. He shows them a (very badly drawn) picture of the thief, which they recognize as a younger Happosai.

Back in Nerima, Happosai is sorting through some things in his pack, while Kasumi burns some trash outside. He comes across a chart, but can't remember what it is, and decides that if it were important he'd remember. So he tosses it toward the fire. Ranma shows up just in time to grab it, announcing, "This is it! The moxibustion chart!" Happosai then steals it back, now being reminded exactly what it is. In the ensuing fight, Happosai beats up the weak Ranma, and then runs away.

Ranma then runs off, thinking that the girls pity him. The next morning the Tendos wake up to find that Ranma and his father are gone, and Kasumi and Soun assume that he has given up and is acknowledging that he can't take over the dojo. Only Akane is sure that he would never give up like that, but is left wondering where he is.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 2

Akane attacks Happosai while he is ironing some stolen panties, demanding that he tell her how to cure the ultimate weakness moxibustion. Her father Soun Tendo overhears, and starts choking Happosai for what he has done to the dojo's heir (one of the few times in the manga that Soun or Genma manage to get the better of Happosai). He releases the old man when his daughter Kasumi suggests that he stop before he kills him, but then Soun also demands the cure.

Happosai's reply is, "Fool! Have you forgotten who I am? In my entire rotten life, have I ever once learned a technique that could actually help anyone?!" He is kicked into the air as they realize he doesn't know the cure.

In the meantime, Ranma is tied up in the P.E. equipment shed at school. Akane, who saw the Happy-Grams, did this to keep Ranma, who would refuse to hide, from being killed by his rivals. Hikaru Gosunkugi finds Ranma and unties him. Puzzled, Ranma asks, "Aren't you one of the guys with a grudge against me?" Hikaru replies, "Who, me?" He then shoves Ranma out the door, saying, "No. I'll just wait until the others are finished." The others turn out to be Principal Kuno, Mousse and Tatewaki, who proceed to beat up on Ranma, but also get in each others way preventing any overly serious blow from landing.

Just as they are about to all strike at once, they are all knocked away. By Ryoga. Ranma says, "What ... you're saving me for yourself?" Ryoga replies, "Don't insult me! I can't stand people who pick on the weak!" Ranma is quite upset on hearing this, and attacks Ryoga, uselessly.

Akane visits Doctor Tofu, whose office looks like a disaster, covered in books and scrolls. He tells her that there is a chance of a cure, a chart in a remote hiding place which shows the moxibustion to counter the ultimate weakness moxibustion.

Ukyo finds Ranma. She tells him that she'll take care of him, that all he'll have to do for the rest of his life is watch over their children. She points out that in his weak state, he can't be the heir of the Tendo dojo, so his engagement to Akane has no point, leaving only his engagement to herself. Ranma, upset, says the only thing on his mind is getting his strength back, that he doesn't care about the dojo. Naturally, at that precise moment Akane had walked in behind him.

Akane hits Ranma over the head, telling him that she came to tell him about a possible cure, but just see if she'll tell him now. Ranma proceeds to fawn all over Akane, massaging her shoulders, etc., while she repeats, "I'm not telling." Ukyo looks on in disbelief at his antics.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Chapter 1

16 year old martial artist Ranma Saotome is walking home from school eating a snack, when the ancient martial arts master Happosai goes leaping by, carrying a bag of girls' panties. He is being chased by a group of girls angry about having their panties stolen. Ranma distracts the old man by throwing the snack into his mouth, allowing the girls to catch him and beat him soundly.

Happosai shows up at the Tendo home at suppertime, looking the worse for wear. Ranma smirks and asks, "Still alive, huh, freak?" In revenge, Happosai attempts to strike Ranma with something from his pipe, which Ranma manages to dodge and grab, recognizing it as moxibustion (burning moxa). While distracted, Happosai hits Ranma in the back with a second dose. Ranma screams in pain at being burned, and Happosai leaves (forcefully).

The next morning on the way to school, Tatewaki Kuno attacks Ranma, who smiles, says "Morning!" and kicks Kuno in the face. Except Kuno is unaffected, saying, "Do you call that a kick? I barely felt it." Ranma, much puzzled, kicks Kuno in the face again, with no effect. He dodges a blow and punches furiously, over and over. Unfazed, Kuno knocks Ranma unconscious. Realizing that he has beaten Ranma at last, he embraces Akane and declares, "You are mine, Akane Tendo!" She then boots him over the horizon.

Confused and angry, Ranma tries to punch a hole in a nearby wall. Except he hits a kid on a tricycle by accident. Except the toddler is unharmed and pushes Ranma backward with a finger. Ranma and Akane visit Doctor Tofu Ono, who figures out what Happosai did to Ranma, describing to them the effects of the "ultimate weakness moxibustion." Doctor Tofu sadly tells them that no cure is known, that no one any longer knows the moxibustion which counters the ultimate weakness moxibustion. The conclusion is that Ranma will be weak for the rest of his life. Ranma runs off, choking.

In the meantime, Happosai is aerially distributing "Happy-Grams" announcing Ranma's weakness. In particular, these fall into the hands of Ranma's rivals: Tatewaki Kuno, his father Principal Kuno, the Chinese amazon Mousse, and Ryoga Hibiki.

A note about Principal Kuno.
For purposes of Moxibustion Violation, I am following a timeline created by M.Zephyr which supposes that the principal has not yet returned to Japan. So in MV, no one knows about him yet. Since Principal Kuno does not play any major role in the story arc in the manga, this inconsistency causes no particular problem.

Ultimate Weakness Moxibustion - Preliminary

A commenter brought to my attention that while it is probable that most readers of my story Moxibustion Violation have previously read the manga series Ranma 1/2, this is not necessarily true of all readers. Those who haven't would therefore be unfamiliar with the ultimate weakness moxibustion story arc from the series, which would hamper their understanding of the set up of my story. Therefore, I propose to provide a summary here of that particular storyline from the manga.

This particular arc consists of twelve chapters (which I will list here as simply chapters 1–12). In the English translation published by VIZ, these start with chapter 6 in volume 11 and conclude with chapter 6 in volume 12. In the Japanese, or in translations based off of its numbering such as the Ranma project scanlations, the first chapter is chapter 1 of volume 13, and the conclusion is in chapter 1 of volume 14.

Working on 25

I did a little work on chapter 25 tonight. Not much, but it's a start. Mostly what I did was to go over the first scene I had written months ago and make some revisions. I did add some more afterward. I'm hoping that I'm about a quarter of the way through the chapter, based on what I plan for it to include. Now I just need to pray that I can keep working at it. At least I can say that I did something, which at the moment seems like a pretty significant milestone.

Water Heater Inconsistency

While I was reading through Moxibustion Violation I spotted an error on my part. In chapter 18, Ranma and Akane sneak into Ucchan's, and Ranma uses hot water from the faucet to change back into a guy. He remarks, “I wonder why the hell she left the hot water heater running? Guess she didn’t expect to be gone that long when she went looking for me.” Then in chapter 24, they go into Ucchan's again on Christmas Day on the way back from the farm, and this time Ranma has to heat water in a pot to change back to male. I wrote, "... even if she had turned off the hot water heater before leaving."

Oh well. For now I think I'll just leave it that way. I'm not in the mood to fix either one of them at the moment.

Preparation

As I reported, the dosage on my medication was reduced and I'm starting to feel a bit more like my old self. This won't solve the problem of having less time to write, but I'm very hopeful I will at least start writing again. In fact, I've spent the last week re-reading Moxibustion Violation in my spare time, from start to finish. It felt good to, hm, thoroughly enjoy it. I felt that it was necessary to do this in order to re-familiarize myself with my story before I started writing on it again. I haven't actually started, but I'm feeling good about it and a lot more hopeful that I will be getting back to it.

While reading through it I found a number of spelling errors, the most egregious of which was "socks" where I meant "cocks". I'd like to correct these errors in the posted story, but I think I should hold off until I have the next chapter ready. I don't want to falsely raise people's hopes with an update, only to discover that there's no new chapter yet.

Damn, it feels like I'm forgetting something I meant to add here. Something I was thinking about at 4:00 in the morning, right before I went to bed. Of course, given the typical clarity of thought after staying up that late, it was probably something totally meaningless.

RHB Update

I just stopped by Ranma Hentai Books and saw that they've updated at last! Furthermore, this update is more than just a handful of pictures. Now if only they were willing to start collecting for the general galleries again.

One piece of news on their update is that they've started a wiki section. The purpose of this wiki is to gather information on all things Ranma hentai. Not just pictures either, but information on videos, stories, artists, authors, and anything else so long as it deals with Ranma 1/2 and has something to do with hentai, ecchi, lemon, etc. material. Currently all of the pages in there are about their own publications, plus a link to StFan's lemon archive, but that's pretty understandable. People have to know about its existence before they can start adding additional material.

I do wish that StFan had the time and/or energy to update the lemon archive. But then, I'm hardly one to talk lately, am I?

Practices I'll Use

The dosage on my medication has been reduced, and I'm feeling a little more my old self. I'm hopeful I might be able to start writing again before too long.

From time to time people have written to me about their ideas of things I might include in my story, something which I encourage, as I like hearing people's ideas even if more likely than not they don't fit into my plans. Occasionally this has led to discussions about what sort of things I find appealing, or which make me cringe. This happened again recently, and inspired me to write a little piece here on what sort of sexual activities / practices / what-have-you I might willingly include in a story.

Straight sex - petting, cunnilingus, fellatio, vaginal intercouse. Well, duh. Obviously I'll include these in my stories.

Anal intercourse. Yep, happy to include this, and already have. However, I'm likely to take a somewhat realistic approach to it, such as insisting on the use of lubricant by the characters.

Same gender activities. Doesn't really ring my bell. Unlike what seems to be the majority of males, I get no special buzz out of watching or thinking about girl-on-girl action. However, I'm willing to include it out of the knowledge that many of my readers will enjoy it. I'm less likely to include guy-on-guy, but I won't rule it out absolutely.

D/S. My stories would almost certainly include dominance/submission stuff, in the male dom / female sub form. It is much less likely I'd include anything with a male submissive or female dominant, except for special cases like Ranma being submissive in her female form.

Spanking. Hell yes. Practically guaranteed in any story that I write. Mmm, just the thought of tanning Akane's cute little bottom ... Incidentally, if there are any women out there reading this in need of a sound spanking from a stern father figure ... oops, oh hi dear, didn't see you walk in behind me. No, no, put the mallet down! I promise you're the only one I want to spank!

Humiliation. Again, practically guaranteed. I really get off on stories where the girls are forced to say or do things they find humiliating. Especially if they find themselves turned on in spite of themselves.

Rape. What can I say? I like dark erotica. So yes, rape would be a reasonable theme in my stories. It wouldn't appear in every story, however. And always bear in mind it's just fantasy. I'd tell you how I think real rapists should be dealt with, but I'm afraid some of my readers here might be too squeamish.

Torture. Psychological, yes. Physical, not too severe. Extreme physical torture which borders on maiming (or worse) is a turn off.

Role playing. Might appear here and there. It's not a big thing for me though.

Piercing. Not in any story of mine, sorry. I know many of my readers like it, but personally it's a major turn off, so I just can't write it. I have trouble looking a girl in the face if she has an eyebrow piercing. Much otherwise good pornography is ruined for me by navel piercings.

Tattoos. These are okay with me if they're relatively discrete, though I don't personally find extensive displays attractive. Tattoos wouldn't show up commonly in my stories, although I might have a character get one as a submission thing - as a mark of being owned, that sort of thing.

Watersports. Not at all likely to appear in my stories. I have to be in an unusual state of mind to find the idea slightly erotic, so it is improbable that I would write it into a story.

Scat. Ick. No way. Nor anything which hints of it to me, such as licking or tongue-probing an anus, or tasting semen which has emerged from an asshole. Sorry, but anal penetration (fingers, toys, intercourse, enemas) is the closest that I'll get to this.

Bestiality. Maybe. That's as far as I'll go right now. I can see myself writing some scenes, particularly, though not necessarily, if it involves someone with a Jusenkyo curse. I don't expect to have any such thing in Moxibustion Violation. And if I write any such scenes in future, it would only be female human and male animal.

Threesomes, orgies, etc. Sure, why not?

Voyeurism, exhibitionism. Yes, with limitations. If exposure is forced on someone, then I'm not likely to write it in a way which would lead to large scale public awareness of it. I.e., I'm not really into lives which are "publicly ruined" (although non-public trauma is another matter entirely).

Cuckold. Depends. I'm okay with writing it so long as I can identify with the guy doing the cuckolding. I don't think I could write it if I find myself identifying with the guy being cuckolded.

Incest. No problem here. Brother/sister, father/daughter, mother/son, more distant relations - I'm cool with writing it as long as the rest of the plot is sufficiently erotic to me.

Pedophilia. That depends on your definition. MV has already involved some sex between adults and a sixteen year old, but I don't really regard that as pedophilia. I can't see myself writing anything involving prepubescent children. Since I'm most likely to write in the Ranma universe, and since the characters there are all at least sixteen, the issue is unlikely to arise.

Fetishism. Too many possibilities to list individually. But generally speaking, I wouldn't object to including most such in a story if it works with the plot.

Mind control. If I keep writing long enough after MV, I'll probably dip into this theme. After all, there are so many good possibilities in Ranma 1/2. Kairaishi mushrooms, fishing rods of love, etc., etc.

Tattoos

I wonder what's up with the Ranma Hentai Books site. Here we are into October, and still waiting for the mid-September update. It's a pity they decided to change their policy on the artwork they post, as they carry a lot less of it these days.

I'd like to suggest that people check out Ranma's Tattoo Blues, the latest story by Imsadistic / obsidians. The first chapter makes it look like it could be pretty good, even if it doesn't end up with any lemon content. Can't you just picture everyone — even Akane — trying to trick Ranma into letting them get a look at his ass so they can learn whose name is there? Or in some cases not even bothering with trickery, but just going for brute force ripping them off?

I could also see a future chapter where the four fiancees get together to conspire on a means to find out whose name is on Ranma's backside. During the planning session they get drunk, and end up going out and getting tattoos of their own. Akane could get a galloping stallion, kind of like the headband she wore in Fighting Chance. Maybe in the end Ranma could agree to a session of "I'll show you mine if all of you show me yours."

Never mind the Cockbites

I read the latest chapter of foesjoe's Never mind the Cockbites and I'm a bit disappointed. The story starts off pretty well, but in chapter 5 Ranma has Akane at his mercy and just leaves her there? Why? Just to prove that she can't force him to do something? Hell, the spanking he gave her was enough to show she wasn't the one in control. If he didn't want to give her exactly what she wanted, he could have taken her anally, or jacked off on her face, or something. But to just walk away without getting himself off, to me that's nuts.

Hey, did anybody else notice that M.Zephyr finally updated his web site again? It's been, what, over half a year? More? Now if only he'd recover enough to write some more stories. (In case you can't tell, I'm a big fan of his Ranma/Akane stories.)

Not that I'm one to talk. Sorry, but no progress to report.

No Progress

I want to apologize to my readers, but it looks like I'm not going to get much writing done in the near future, unless I get really inspired. I tried today, but I only managed to churn out a few paragraphs, and they felt forced. I just couldn't get the feel for it. I also tried starting a different (short) story, but no luck there either. In the end I am forced to admit that I cannot write unless I have the right mood, and that mood is rare these days, let alone coinciding with free time to write.

I definitely do want to continue writing at some point - I want to recapture the way it felt when I started writing MV. I'll try to keep this blog updated from time to time, to let people know that I haven't given up, and to report on any progress which might come to pass.

Poor Timing

Sorry I haven't been doing much writing lately. I really am having trouble feeling "erotic" these days. I'm hoping that sometime this coming autumn I'll be able to at least reduce the dosage which I'm on. I'll have to wait and see though. Reduced libido is annoying as hell, but isn't truly debilitating, not like some of the crap I was experiencing before this stuff was prescribed.

Timing remains an issue too. I had some great thoughts on the drive in to work this morning, and would have loved to have been sitting in front of my computer to write a scene. Unfortunately, I'm not insane enough to try typing on a laptop while driving a car. I've tried dictating into a recorder before, but it doesn't work for me.

Tonight, all I did was reorganizing ideas for future stories. Which isn't terribly creative, and doesn't really do anything toward getting reading material into my readers' hands.

MV 25 Started

I wrote a chunk of chapter 25 of Moxibustion Violation today. Not a huge amount, but at least it's something. The words were flowing pretty smoothly for a while, until a necessary chore interrupted.

I know the slow progress must be frustrating for everyone. It's certainly pretty frustrating for me. I can't seem to find any spare time for writing except on the weekends. Then when the weekend rolls around, I tell myself I'm definitely going to get some writing done, but the old fire is usually lacking and I find myself frittering my time away on other things instead. There are times I'd like to chuck this shit I'm taking in the trash, if it weren't for the certain knowledge that the result would only be worse.

Enough of that. I don't want to write a lot of angsty, whiny crap about how awful my life is. Because it isn't, not really, and I know that. Hell, compared to a lot of people I've got a damned good life.

I'm enjoying reading T.H.Tiger's story Games. It's a nice little bit of Ranma porn which allows Ranma to enjoy things in both male and female forms. Of course, I'd like it better if Akane wasn't a dyke, but I understand that's part of the original set up and I can live with it.

I wish more people could write good InuYasha porn which involved him, Kagome and their gang. But so much of it is either poorly written, or pairs Kagome with Sesshomaru, which is a pairing that I just can't see. Mind you, I don't insist on I/K for porn. Let Miroku bang Kagome, InuYasha give it to Sango, Shippo put a spell on them all. Hell, even bring Kouga into it, if done right. But S/K is just too weird. In any case, I don't look too often, because the mountains of crap are just too high to wade through.

That's one advantage to Ranma fiction. There may not be as much of it as InuYasha, but it seems like a higher percentage of the stories are at least decent reads.

MV 25 Plotted

I finally plotted out chapter 25 of Moxibustion Violation tonight. It looks like it might not be quite as much of a filler chapter as I was thinking, i.e., if I get everything I plan into it there will be definite plot advancement. On the other hand, there may not be a lot of sex. Don't get scared, though - there will definitely be sex.

I had an idea for a one-shot that I might see about writing someday soon, involving the Tendo and Saotome parents. Actually, I've had several ideas for other stories I hope to write someday. The difference in this case it that I might write the story before finishing MV. We'll see.

Thoughts on MV 25

Warning: the below might be considered to contain some mild spoilers. Although I don't really give anything away.

I haven't started writing the new chapter yet. In fact, I had to spend all day today (Saturday) putting in overtime at the office. But I have been doing some thinking about the upcoming chapter.

I think this one is going to be mostly filler, where I show the new status quo has been established. Ryoga will continue to exert his control. The other guys will endeavor to make sure that Akane and Ranma know that they're still going to be making intensive use of the pair. There probably won't be anything special with Gosunkugi in this chapter. The main development will be primarily nonsexual, as Ranma and Akane begin the martial arts training of Hiroshi and Daisuke. But maybe I'll tie that into some sex.

I don't expect Ukyo to show up yet in this next chapter. She's on her way back to Nerima, but I'll want to devote significant attention to her return, not just toss it in with all of that other stuff. For that matter, it might be worthwhile to do another scene with Akane and Ranma in Ukyo's apartment, to further establish that they have been using it as a retreat / playroom in her absence.

Longer term, there will be some additional surprises before the next school term starts. I'll have to do something with the New Year. The start of the school term should be interesting. Akane's next monthly doctor's visit isn't scheduled to take place until after school starts up again.

Piercing

It has been privately suggested that I consider having the molesters force Ranma and Akane to be pierced, as this provides possibilities for BDSM play. I thought I'd let everyone know now that this isn't going to happen, for the simple reason that I personally regard piercing as a turn off.

Please note, this is a personal taste. I have no problem with other people liking it, or liking to read about it, or having it done themselves. But as the author of the story, given that writing about it would have a negative effect on my libido, it's not going to be showing up.

Sorry 'bout that (for those of you who would have enjoyed it).

Ryoga Keeping Ranma Male

T H Tiger, review of chapter 24, extract:
I do have a quibble, it's wholly because of my bias and likely not shared by everyone. It was Ryouga keeping Ranma male, and actually getting him to steer Ryouga into Akane. A mervelous bit of nasty on Ryouga's part, but I can't help but think he would be uncomfortable as hell with a guy handling his junk. In my own mind he just covered well and really ground Ranma's nose in the dirt at the same time. For my preference I'd just as well prefer it if Ranma were not male during these little sessions.

I think it is quite reasonable to assume that Ryoga was uncomfortable with having Ranma's hand on his manhood, if for no other reason his memories of what Ranma was like before he became weak. I mean, would you really be comfortable having a guy take hold of your prick when he hates your guts, and you can remember a time when he could lift and toss boulders around? So as THTiger suggested, I think Ryoga did feel that way, but suppressed any expression of his discomfort for the sake of carrying out this piece of nastiness.

I won't promise not to have Ranma male again during future sessions, but I believe that if I do it will be a fairly rare occurrence.

Water Temperature Correction

I have modified chapter 24 on both sites to correct the mistake I made with the water in the greenhouse. The paragraph about the pan of water has been replaced with two paragraphs in which the water comes from the roof. It being winter, the water outside on the roof should be cold enough to transform Ranma. The means by which Ranma gets hit with this water is a little more contrived, but still within the bounds of the ordinary for the Ranma universe.

Water Temperature Goof

Oh ... blast. Bloody, bloody ... blast. As Scorpinac just pointed out to me, there's a major flaw in chapter 24. That pan of water in the greenhouse wouldn't be ice water, so it should not have changed Ranma into a girl. Damn. Now I have to go back and change the chapter, and find some way for some ice water to hit Ranma at that point.

Keeping plot points in mind is more of a pain than I realized before I began writing. Heck, just keeping track of whether Ranma is male or female is sometimes difficult.

Chapter 24 Posted

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

Chapter 24 Ready. Sort of.

I've gone back through and cleaned up chapter 24, so that it's ready to post. Almost. I just have to do a little tweaking associated with getting the files in the right format for the sites where I post them. However, it's well past midnight, I haven't been getting enough sleep lately, and there's one other thing I have to do before seeking my bed. So I'm planning to put off posting the chapter until tomorrow. Which is really today, but after I've had a night's sleep.

By the end of the chapter, you'll know whether or not Ranma and Akane managed to have sex at the farm, as they intended.

Chapter 24 Draft Complete

I've completed the draft of chapter 24 of MV. Now I just need to go back through and tidy it up. Who knows, if I'm energetic enough, I might get it up before the night is over. Don't count on that though. More likely is that it will be posted Friday or Saturday. Still, I think I can confidently predict that you'll be able to read the chapter before next week.

It currently stands (before tidying) at around eleven thousand words.

Comments and Cookies

Something unfortunate that I've learned about blogspot. If you have your browser set to prevent third party cookies, you may not be able to leave comments. Which isn't to say you definitely won't. But if you have trouble leaving a comment to one of my posts, and you're willing, you might try enabling third party cookies for the duration of creating the comment. That's what I'm doing. Damned silly nonsense, if you ask me.

Chapter 24 Progress 3

Wrote some more on the chapter today. Got through Christmas morning. Going pretty well. It's about 7500 words now, where I usually try to get at least 7000 words before posting (only chapter 2 was shorter than that). And it's not that bad a stopping point, so I could post now. On the other hand, I think I'd prefer to include the scene out at the farm (as mentioned back in chapter 20). Although that promises to be a long scene.

I suppose that I'll decide later.

Chapter 24 Progress 2

I managed to write some more on chapter 24 today. In fact, enough that I could probably post it as a chapter, if I was willing to post it as a short chapter which doesn't go as far as I'd like. So I doubt that I will. There's stuff in the next scene or two that I would prefer to have in the chapter before I post it. It's a balance between my wish to get stuff out there for my readers to enjoy versus my wish to have the chapter feel complete to me.

One of the things that I have to remember is to let Jikiru (Jekyll) out once in a while. Ryoga can't stay in his Haido (Hyde) persona full time.

It amuses me how some reviewers think I have this deep, involved plan where Gosunkugi is concerned. Truthfully, I do have a plan, and have a feel for where I want him to be at the end of the story. But Gosunkugi's plan for Akane and Ranma is dynamically evolving as the story progresses. I.e., his character is letting me in on the plan just a little bit ahead of my readers.

Chapter 24 Progress

I did in fact get a good chunk of chapter 24 of Moxibustion Violation written today. If I can put in another day like today, I should have enough to post the chapter.

Publication Delays

I decided I wanted to say a word about why there have been such long delays between chapters lately in my story. On the other hand, I didn't really want to put this into an Author's Note in the story itself. At the same time, I'm not going to reveal too much.

About eight months ago, a combination of a couple of events made my life considerably more hectic and severely cut into the amount of time I could devote to writing. One event, involving work, was good, but definitely has required more time and, more importantly, more effort - tending to leave me more mentally tired during my spare time. Mind, I'm not complaining (in fact, I'm reasonably happy about it), I'm just explaining. The other event, something personal, was ... not good. And has required even more of my time and effort.

But the real problem as I see it - so far as my writing is concerned - was that I needed to start taking prescription antidepressants. Again, I'm not really complaining. Nor am I embarrassed about it. They've helped a lot. However - we're all adults here, right? - they've had a negative effect on my libido. Not precisely a huge effect. My wife and I are still doing just fine in that department, thank you. But enough of an effect to be noticeable, to impact/reduce my fantasies, and to lower my general level of desire outside of the bedroom proper.

And as you might imagine, that definitely makes it more difficult to concentrate on writing erotica. Sigh.

Introduction

Hello. H.Saotome here. I've set up this blog to have a place to keep people informed of what's going on with my writing, to provide an anonymous place where people can comment and ask questions outside of reviews, and to give me a place to respond to reviews without adding reviews myself. For that matter, people reading my stories on asstr don't have a place to see reviews.

I've also been working today on chapter 24 of Moxibustion Violation. I hope to get a good chunk of the chapter written, although I doubt that I'll get it completed. But if I can get close, maybe people won't have to wait too much longer for the chapter.
